I thought Hormel was still undertaking the sisyphian task of disassociating their name from "unsoliticed commercial email"? Sounds like these guys are all cool and stuff, as long as it's their product being promoted.
Well the underdog always looks good. A lot of the growth that's in China right now is because there wasn't anything there before. It's easy to have double-digit growth when the technology is there for you to adapt; you don't have to invent anything. Not saying that Asians are less creative; one look at Japanese Art or Chinese Literature tells me otherwise. China's got a huge problem with pollution and over-crowding that's here already, with worse looming on the hozizon.
Asd for Japan and the other industrialized Asian countries, yes they have many benefits that North Americans don't, but at what price? What good is an efficient Tokyo subway if you're a wage slave working 14 hours a day? You might like lifetime employment, but something like 3/4 of the Japanese workforce in the post-war era were wage workers, laid off and abused like any other worker.
I don't know when that turned into a rant, but I'll stop now.
Probably no differently than our efforts are already having an effect. Unless a human-enhanced animal gets out and breeds in captivity, we won't see any new species adaptations except for those that we ourselves design. That said, what about going the other way? Would night-shift workers want to get implanted with bat ears so they could communte in the dark?
I think the ability to spray my scent on something(one) would come in handy during arguments.
"Yea well you're stupid!"
Psssssssst
"Yuck! I concede!"
I wonder how much of this new found computer use will be put toward free expression, and how much will be beating on weakling monsters somewhere on a level treadmill. Will games provide a way to get around China's internet firewall? The rise of home-use computers will at least make the process of monitoring more difficult, even though the survelliance cameras in webcafes are given little notice by the staff anyway.
The Great Escape for the C64, a mostly monochromatic (except for the little border around the tiny game screen) simulation of escape from a German concentration camp. During the day, you had to go through the routine of a prisoner or risk being put in solitary. Solitary involved looking at your character in a locked room until the guards let you out. If you didn't touch the joystick for 5 mins, the game took over for you.
I never had the patience to collect all the items and info needed for escape; I think my character just died from boredom.
His comments regarding the concept of 'out of print' being expensive and exclusive are just not applicable for games that can be copied any number of times for very little money. If anything, making these games availible on websites like underdogs.org is re-printing them, thereby adding value to it. If he wants to have the exclusivity of out of print, he should collect old game systems or something more physical. I suppose he objects to the Gutenburg project too?!?
They should just shut down all the publishers and let the pirates pirate each-other. They can fund new games with the pr0n-ad revenue they get from their sites.
Don't assume that these electric bikes are gaining ground because of environmental or even traffic concerns. They're cheap, and the vast majority of Chinese people cannot afford a car. I'd bet that once they can afford them, they will happily trade in their e-bike for a big, emissions-producing vehicle. The growing middle class is already doing this, contributing to the world-wide upsurge in oil demand and price hikes at the pumps.
mmporgs are interactive! You have to keep clicking on the Ugly Rat-thing to kill it, before going on to kill something else. That's as interactive as it gets.
I know I'm becoming outdated: I only understand half the terms in that post.

With the Indiana franchise I'd like to see a "Batman Beyond" switchover, with Ford as an aging Indy and some new disciple taking his place.
P.T. Barnum set his ratio rather low.

I bet even a diamond-encased iPod would break when you sat on it... Still gotta buy that plastic case!
I bet you can accurately recreate the damage of the so-called "magic bullet" with a single BFG pickup.
Yes, but nobody wanks off to music.
Huh - and here I thought that Firefox was secure as hell...
If anyone ever plays the game based on the life of Lei Feng, I have one piece of advice. Watch for landmines.
...we'll learn what that last song on the White Album means.
Any sightings of a torrent out there? Please help those of us without Ultra-Fileplanet Deluxe!

Probably much the same could be said about Freenet...
But can I get blue neon lights on my custom car to match the ones I have in my case? Oh wait...

Asda? Did someone just fiddle with their left hand at the business name registration office??
Who needs erro>*H~@}&)aA=cking anyway?
You may not think so when your mouse hand is still twitching in your sleep...
And here I thought it was something to keep those pesky Windows APIs from getting all uppity.
