"people who the system has shown to have value."
Those who the "system" does not show to have value are to be decompiled immediately and there code intergrated with the windows kernel.
that's odd, the most popular FPS todate is a mod for an engine that carmack did not write. Well, the HL engine may be a heavily modified Quake II engine which is a heavily modified Quake engine. So the most popular FPS, Counter-Strike, is a mod for an engine that is a mod of a mod of an engine (that Carmack did write). Ditto.
So now I have even less incentive to switch back to AIM seeing as that I use one program that allows SecureIM already and connects to multiple services.
So, this seems to be the new trend. Just like with cellphones. They keep making the things smaller and smaller so they are easier to lose and you have to buy new ones. I'd like to see this size of drive in my tower (physically of course), though I would want it to hold roughly 20 GB.
One thing thought, I've never been able to boot any distro of Linux in 20s flat nor have it run any of my favorite games without massive re-coding. Then again, I've never had any distro of Linux crash on me either.
Reading the article made me wonder how any true geek could use it. While the concept is definatley intriguing and would confuse the crap out of your friends if they ever watched you use it properly, but how would any keyboard shortcuts work. ALT+F4, CTRL+ALT+DEL, WINDOWSKEY+L. WINDOWSKEY+R, WINDOWSKEY+E, CTRL+C, CTRL+X, CTRL+Z, CTRL+V, etc... what's the use of a keyboard if you can no longer use the shortcuts on it. Would configuring a router be possible? How would I stop a very extensive dir, ls, for tree command. What about catting a HD. Also, PS/2? Why not make it a USB device, it would be pm;y mecessary to connect to just one port rather than two. Makes me wonder if the gaming and IT aspect was even considered when this device was designed.
Actually, my 256MB module just died, my 128 MB module is dying, and that would leave me with a whopping 10 MB of onboard RAM left. Suffice it to say, I need more RAM, I shall get enough to dump Windows into RAM so I don't have to use a page file.
RIAA/MPAA: MY GOD? YOU'RE USING BITTORRENT! PIRACY PIRACY PIRACY!!!!
Friendly Neighborhood Geek: But, the game is free. How am I pirating it?
RIAA/MPAA: Game? What game, it's a moving image with sound files, that means it belongs to us! We're talking to our lawyers right now!
Friendly Neighborhood Geek: Ok... time to put up another firewall and set my pgp encryption to 4096 bits.
I agree there. I don't see why everyone is going after M$'s gaming department like they would against the OS dep. M$ loses money on the XBox, it's a damn cheap piece of hardware, XBox LIVE is the least expensive gaming service to date. The only thing that is actually pricey are the games. While you can get these games for free, which many do, if you try to play them online LIVE gives you the boot and bans your MAC address. Run Linux and a few emulators and you can bypass it, but why do that when you can just boot into an unmodded OS and play on LIVE then mess around with Linux or any other OS when you're not gaming.
M$ loses money on each console they sell. Even wholesale value of the HardDrive, CPU, RAM, DVD-ROM, and Motherboard+GPU is around $400. M$ loses a lot of money with the XBox, and they keep lowering the price. This, needless to say, is something unexpected from M$. You'd think the price would be sky high. I guess the liscence for Dashboard costs a lot less than Windows 2000.
Well that's great. Now we have the worst OSP (Online Service Provider) and the worst online gaming service, if you can even call it a service, in one big crappy... errr I mean happy family!
IMO FFVII was the best. Although the story of Tactics almost rivals it. FFX was complete crap, and I can't believe a sequel is being made. That is appauling and breaks all traditions that Square has created in the series. Even talking about a squel to any Final Fantasy is wrong. Not to mention a sequel to FFVII which is in works, how can there be a sequel? The story had complete closure!
If I'm not mistaking Id and another company or school started an institution for game designers and programers. It's only 1-2 years or so but it'll give you a headstart on attaining your goal.
I used to play Quake III: Arena on a 433 MHz Celeron with a whopping 96MB of RAM and an 8MB ATi Radeon Rage Pro Turbo video card. Ironically I still got 30 FPS at 800x600 and even with my 56k pinged at ~250-300ms which, suffice to say, is not too bad for a 56k. I now play CS and UT2k3 online, still on a 56k, but my pings are now ~150-250ms. Granted I have a much faster machine now, but even though the pings are much higher than my counterparts on broadband connections, I can still play without much complaints. Then again, I have quite an odd 56k, with compressiono off I average 10-15KB/s.
The only cartoons I can stand watching on Saturday morning is Yu-Gi-Oh! and Jackie Chan. Everything else sucks. I remember the really good saturday morning, and in some cases sunday morning cartoons. Like Transformers (the original series) and then Area 51 (name may be off) cartoon that aired on the WB for about five weeks on sunday mornings. Now they try to appeal to an audience of a much lesser age, with cartoons like Pokèmon and the ilk. Such as the cartoon about the wrestling school for children, sorry name slips my mind. There would be more viewers if there were better cartoons with oh I don't know, a plot!?
http://www.divx.com/divx/comparison.php for a comparison of the DivX bundles. BTFW, who allowed this nonsense to get posted in the first place?

Or feel really light from buying that P4 seeing as they have no money left in their wallet.

If there is a webcam in Natalie Portman's dressing room. I'll pay for that :D

... comes to Dayton, OH in 2010.
So does that mean I won't have to use 128MB of RAM just for Windows?

I wish Microsoft would live up to some standards, like an operating sytem that oh I dunno... OPERATES!?
So people are finally treating the internet like a really big LAN and people are complaining? Personally I think it's great.

Does it mean I can now see the wireless signal?

So google is finally using some drano to unclog their blogs, eh? Well as always, using acids does some damage for a greater good.
