Why Yes there is. Open Office will create beutiful front ends for databases just fine, and it is a whole lot less work than hiring some CS student to set it up for you than hiring one to bring a custom solution on line. Also, though I have never used it extensively DBDesigner is a good access drop in from what I can see.
This is actually a very nice thing to have, it writes no permanent files to the HD, no need to reboot, and you have the ability to run your X apps where ever you are, over a single port to no less.
That means I can use *my* browser, with all of my short cuts and plugins (or lack there of) and I only have to keep one configured instead of the current three that I do now. Also you get to use all of your own apps, configured the way you like them. And because it is all done securely, on your own machine, surf for what ever you want "Harold down the hall was caught surfing for porn, inspect his machine" "I don't know what they saw, but only thing on ther was mens boxer pictures from WalMart's website." Actually the more I think about it this is a great privacy tool that can be easily handed out.
Light, responsive and it allows you to bring even non-ported F/OSS programs to a Windows desktop. I realy don't see what there is to be down on this about. Congrats to the people developing it.
They have a very distict call that echos over the north woods. The sound carries incredibly far because a Loon in an enormous bird - near goose size, and emits its call on the water allowing it to bounce of the surface to the shore. There are other other calls that it has, very eerie stuff when you are a kid out by the lake at dusk, very cool when you are an adult.
If the ice on the continent's melts off won't those land masses lift up do to the loss of all of that weight? It is my understanding that they "float" on the surface anyway, thus the whole pan-Gaea(ps?) thing.
Wireless monitor maybe, but I think that a wireless mouse would be the first thing that would be picked up and made into a new "Car", "Friend" or (shudder) "Boat". Same for the headphones. A tether to the machine might not be such a bad idea after all.

Odd, I have a machine with a AIW 7500 and knoppix boots and runs just fine on it, we even installed SuSE and it ran flawlessly. It would seem that this is a Mandrake issue after all.
Most times I have had X bomb on me it has allowed me some sort of a shell. Hmmm...I don't know what to tell you, other than to file a bug report. Sorry , wish I could be of more help.
