  1. Enough With This on Bungie Speaks On Halo 2 Leak · · Score: 1

News stories use words like "shock" when they talk about the release of HALO 2. It was bound to happen. It doesn't matter whether someone worked on a product 3 days or 3 years. If there is interest, it will be pirated, especially before the release date. They should have expected it. Every company that releases a product should have contingencies to this kind of activity. They should not be shocked.

Does Microsoft has ninjas? For those who do not know, ninjas were assassins. When I read that, the movie Antitrust came into mind, where open source programmers were butchered for code by the big evil CEO of the big evil empire.

This is very bad news. This means that ISPs are so afraid of litigation that they are willing to remove material at the first threat of copyright violations without cheking whether or not the material is copyrighted. Basically, they are willing to be bullied by any entity that claims copyright.

  5. Re:In my oppion on The Web's 20 Worst Security Flaws · · Score: 5, Interesting

That is not entirely true. It is well known that Microsoft abandoned IE after it has won the first browser war. Microsoft have also had a unsecure programming mindset because they started as one-user-minded company instead of multi-user-minded company. Because they did not care about security at first, now they are paying the price. Unfortunetly, the consumer is facing the heat worse than Microsoft.

Firefox does not allow extensions to be installed from another web site besides update.mozilla.org by default. The user must specify in the options that it wants to allow extensions from a certain site to be installed, which should keep spyware low for now. Firefox users also have more computer skills than IE users. Firefox holes are filled faster than IE. All this should keep spyware low on the Mozilla platform.

PS: I believe that a recently passed bill made spyware illegal with the penality of prison, and I think that I saw on Google news something about the first spyware trial.

Has Lucas done anything else than Star Wars. From all I know he is associated with only Star Wars. I have never heard of his name associated with another film. Is this all he is going to do all his life? The originals were good, but the ones made in the 90s and 2000s sucked. My adivice to him is to either make sure that the next Star Wars movies is as good or better than the orginials or put it to rest, and move on. There has to be something else than Star Wars that he can do.

The American ellections are way more complicated than they should be. I think that the candidate that wins the popular vote should be president. Screw the ellectoral college.

That is his opinion and he is entitled to it. However, humans like comfort, and humans bitch when comfort does not exist, especially on long trips. In addition, there are cultural differences between Russians and Americans as he pointed out. What might seem comfortable for the Russians might not be comfortable for the Americans, just like he pointed out the folk song. Some people can handle comfortless trips, while others cannot. Those who cannot must be mentally trained to do so. No one wants an astronaut to have some sort of breakdown because his toiled sucked his anus too fast, or that he cannot eat anything else but food from the toothpaste containers. Speaking in terms of weight, not having a toilet or a kitchen will not significantly increase the maneuverability of the International Space Station or a future spaceship. It will not make it lean and mean. The only thing that will do is new propulsion systems. -------------
