Thats because you are looking at 2 different ZigBee modules that operate at different power ratings, from Maxstream.net(sellers of ZigBee modules), "The 1 mW XBee will perform up to 300' (100 m)" & "The 100 mW XBee-PRO will perform up to 4000'"
The whole atomic weight thing was just a best guess then? Or have we been able to calcuate atomic weights, but when it comes to molecules, well, thats just too darn complicated?????
"Don't have your old System 7.1 CD from your Quadra? It's now available online, or if you'd like to you're welcome to use the Torrent."
Cool, where is the System 7.1 CD then?:)
but I didnt think Intel could just "create" a standard. ANSI, sure, but a company cannot create a true standard if no one but them uses it. Of course its most likely a moot point since they believe if they put it out there, people will automatically buy it, because it has to be better, s is higher than g right?;)
I would have to concur with the others, this story seems to have been posted to cause flaming within the slashdot community. I wish that these types of "stories" ie, taxing email, paying per meg of downloaded content, etc. would be a thing of the past for sites like slashdot, but I guess anything that brings in the ad revenue:(
They do work in France, but some companies' cds are copy-protected in a way that makes car cd players, cdroms and some other types of players unable to play them.
I believe that they want to create a "Book Exchange" not a new way to sell books. In other words, not an auction, not an online bookstore, but a way for students to give away their books.
But a dose of reality here, no one is going to be taxing home or corporate lans. The author of the story failed to mention that this tax is on phone companies that are switching to private lans to route their calls. This is what happens when reporters forget to include the whole truth in their stories. And the Orlando Sentinel is full of this type of reporting.... nuff said.
Voiding your warranty? I've never heard of a warranty being voided because you used a better thermal interface material. I for one will being using it, if, and thats a big if at this point, its as stable and long lasting as the other pastes out there. Anything to lower my cpu temp a few more degrees.
Almost sounds like they dont have all the money to award the winner of the X-Prize, so that they are changing the rules now. Of course, the previous statement is 100% speculation on my part.
So, how do they get around paying for their income? You do know that simply opening a bank account in another country does not magically make that money tax free right? The IRS doesnt tax you exclusively on the money you have in your bank account, they tax you on your INCOME, and yes they know how much you make. If it was that simple, everyone would simply open up bank accounts in Canada, Mexico, etc. And with all that money overseas, how could they get a hold of it? Wire transfer? No, the IRS gets the records for anything over $1000. Could you post the link to where this complicated scheme is explained? I would love to see this.
No, Ill just wait until its posted on usenet and watch it then, that way if it does suck, I wont feel guilty about adding any viewer ratings, even though Im not one of the Neilson(sic) families.
Some, but not Dell, I would say to read their customer support FAQ, but you need to read Hungarian for that. Suffice it to say, you can order any product on any of Dell's international sites simply by using the item order number, as long as it doesnt violate local countries' import/export conditions
"...to anyone and everyone then on what later became the web..."
What?? In 1971 http protocol was around? Or is the author trying to suggest that the internet became the web? I thought the web was part of the internet, not a replacement for. Perhaps Im misreading the article.
Yes the satellite is still operational, too bad the website isn't :)

Best Buy has been talking about doing this for the past few months now in their conference calls. Besides, look at the date, its April 2nd

...if they would mind terribly pointing out the 3% of the DVD copying programs that arent affected by this new protection scheme? :)
Guess he doesnt know that its October already, you would think he would know at least the month! hehe

Not bad, 3 minutes and their server is already filled to capacity. Way to go slashdotters! :)
Any idea where I can grab those commericals? Those are my favorite.

This story is about news of a review that doesnt exist yet? Ok........

I think the point they were trying to make, is that while there was no power on the lines, there would be no interference.
wanna bet?
That sounds more like a bandwidth allocation problem than a capping situation. Contact TW and they will look into it.
