  1. Re:Bandwagon, much? on Yahoo Introduces Competitor for iTunes · · Score: 1

The real problem is that Allofmp3.com has crap for music. After searching the Yahoo.com database it appears to me they are going to be attracting the Indie rock crowd, as some of the best loved indie bands are available on their service.

I even found several Indie bands from my local area...

I still think .99 a track for a digital file is RIDICULOUS but i doubt the music industry will ever get a clue...

i find it humorous that people so openly disregard anything from a person of faith. When in fact, evolution and those who belive it do so in faith.

Have you ever actually done a carbon dating? have you done the experiments that diffrent scientists have done?

I highly doubt it. You believe on faith that the scientists and the scientific process are delivering you honest and real answers.

Every scientific discovery is looked at through the filter of evolution. When at times many other explanations could explain experimental results, those are discarded becasue they may lead to ID; wich as we all know is scientific suicide.

Yes, i too was hit by the infamous "masked Mod" in reply to your question...I WISH! *grins* no i'm afraid i dont make that much, but having been in Indie rock bands in the past (one that was semi-succsesfull but fell to the ever so common artistic friction) i could see how willing peopel were to spend money on us at shows and online. I beleive all it would take is work to get yourself known around the internet. Its no diffrent that advertising for your really sweet lingere store or your RPG webstite. If you can get enough traffic to your site and have some interesting things there for people to consume, then its up to the quality of your music and art to sell your products... I'm NOT against making money in the music industry, i just believe we have outgrown the RIAA!

Yes and you are no better than the worthless top 40 artless crap that plays on the radio right now. But guess what...that will NEVER happen, because your not beautiful enough and you dont have that great computer approved sound, so although thousands upon thousands of people might have liked your music and come to see your shows, and you might have been able to make a living doing somthing you loved (and making decent money) you are instead left to sit in your garage becasue you belive that the only way is the RIAA... BULLCRAP!!! you CAN make a living doing somthing you love without being a corperate shill! Thats what we are all screaming about! the internet makes it possible to ditribute your music YOURSELF to thousands of people. I imagine you could make 30-50,000 a year between sales of your music and merchandise and show tickets, if you had a decent content delivery system and you kept putting out good music the money would keep flowing in.. Just so you know i am also an indie rocker, and no, i wouldnt sign a contract with the RIAA...there ARE better ways, if youa are good and love the music you CAN make a living without being a whore.

I like the statements made by the first market anyalyst at the end of the article
"Hardware Acceleration always beats software - therefore, time sliced CPU-based physics will impact performance and have to be dumbed down to satisfy bandwidth issues". However, unless the game developers are willing to break the chicken-egg scenario, and wholeheartedly commit to this third processor, it's a no-starter... It's going to be tough - the good news is that they have a business plan which has withstood the scrutiny of high-end Venture capital." -Jon Peddie
i seem to recall a very similar statement is this in an old gaming magazine i have about the Voodoo 3d chip. People were very skeptical about the add-on nature of GPU's at the time. I personally see the PPU as the next logical step in the develepmont of the PC, and not jsut for gaming. The GPU is now used in many high end CAD stations. I can easily see the engineering aplications for the PPU doing high end stress analysis and wear modeling.

The Hardware is all set on the PS2, the devs dont have to take in to account thousands of diffrent hardware configurations, many of them with conflicting instruction sets.
