Nonetheless, whenever monkey bones are discovered, there will be this roar of wonder that wow we've pushed the split millions of years back. Or wow we've found the missing link. My point is that this "link" doesn't made a better chain. That in the years to come, many more bone finders will no doubt contribute to this chain. However, we'll never be satisfied (which is good, we shouldn't be).
I am afraid in the end, evolution will be reduced to nothing more but a set of beliefs that requires our faith as a link in the grand chain. I don't like to rely on faith that's all.
I am bothered more when I see arguments between the Creationists vs. the Scientists on this topic because it's so apples and oranges. The only question that link the 2 factions is "Where do we come from?" but that's exactly my point. Creationists will tell you with 100% confidence someone made us disregarding whether a non-questioning mind is good or not. While the Scientists will say, well we're not 100% sure but we have a Theory(TM). Which is all fine and dandy. But just don't argue over it. It's pointless if we're after mapping for mapping sake, knowledge for knowing, and links for linking, all without the underlying question. And this particular question will never be answered due to the problem with resolution in my previous post.
Seeing all these articles and arguments thru the years made me think. Sorry for my lack of terminology.
1. Are we trying to complete the evolution "map" so to speak? 1 map being from dino to lizards, another one from dino to birds, etc.
2. Disregarding the ape-human thing, are there ANY maps that had been completed? Thereby PROVING that evolution works at least FOR that particular family?
3. A deeper question is, what is the resolution needed for a "map" to be deemed completed? We find ape A and ape E. Next year we find ape B, C, and D. Do we need a B.5, C.5, or D.75 the year after in order to prove that yes evolution works?
4. If question 3 cannot be answered, how in the hell would we know that yes humans came from apes when we finally have a half ape, half human subject? Is he C.5 or C.78? Then do we need C.65? A tad bit more ape and we're happy?
This is frigging nuts. I just don't know when it stops. Help me out here please.
If you allow people leeway they will repay you back at a later date by supporting you.
That's exactly how I bought fraps. When it first came out I was a poor student and couldn't afford the proggy. But I've tried it and it just kicks ass.
Years later, when I become a poor designer, I shelled out the $40, and send the author a mail giving props. If I had never tried fraps I bet I would just pirate it to "see" how good it is and ended up not paying. But to revisit the site after all these years and see this guy still at it, with a lifetime upgrade, that $40 was one of the best $40 I've spent on useful stuff. Even more useful now with youtube.
The same can be said for Wii. I am in Hong Kong and I can pirate the Wii like no tomorrow, but I chose not to in order to thank nintendo. After all these years of being the underdog, the big N never gave up on us and made something truly new. I don't even play much on it, but it's a good feeling.
Carmageddon is the only game so far where the car actually feels "heavy" to me. Which is what makes it fun. I don't really know if the physics is good in there but the car just feel so damn right, especially when drifting.
All these new driving games have cars feel like a paper box bouncing instead of a chunk of steel moving.
In work situations wherever possible my preference is for text communication because it is easier for *me* to focus on the task at hand by removing the personal element from the people I am working with.
Don't worry, when the mass hate something enough that's shown publicly, it will be destroyed at around 3am at night. Now if you put protection around it, then it'll lose its use as a touch paper.
The time when I would get a camera phone for the sake of the camera, would be when Canon makes a phone and integrate it into their camera, instead of Nokia making a camera and integrating them into phones.
WRT the mediocre summary, I should run out and get a Nokia to take pics because the phone has 16mm wide angle with a 6 point hot-shoe I presume. Gee.
For perfection, there is no substitute for the human eye.
Exactly man. Else my job is just select the text, type a -50 in the kerning in illustrator and I can go home. Different fonts requires different treatment. Even using the word "require" is fishy.
That was exactly what I was going to post even though I never had the exact experience in school. But to post voicing out the issue of copying work versus "being successful" in real life.
Without going into the "what is success" discussion, if you will, let it be that muddy grey form that we should all have in our heads, can we already see that those who got by school in the most efficiency way actually wins (wins based on a comparable quantity of things). I wasn't one of them. But I know classmates who earn 3x my income now, copying papers in schools. 1x3x the amount of girls I've ever had (null for the slashdot crowd). And in this respect success was measured on money and mates.
Of course there're other measures of success and I can masturbate all day here on how I am a "better" person because I didn't cheat. I am more moral than "he" is. But when we're all grown up now and really sit down and think, you really lose faith when you pay that next bill at the ATM.
Would they post better, more informative, or insightful posts here? Probably not, but why do they care? Sipping their penii colada on their20 feet boats.
My conclusion is, success in the real world probably has nothing to do with whether you copied your papers or not. IT IS JUST SCHOOL. It's not related to you being a rock star or a hooker. My friends were just smart and clearer on their goals and their "goals" probably has nothing to do with schools or papers morality. It's what's AFTER.
Oh was it coincidence? The friends I talked about were all business majors. While I was in philosophy. lol. Have some faith, Scofield.
I wonder what'd happen to us as students in say 5 more generations. Maybe we just go dumb and instant messages. We read but not out loud anymore. And movies back to mime.
Ah thanks for the info. So they're statically charged? So you actually need something to ground whoever or whatever is picking them up? We already have "anti-static" materials here on earth right? Those coatings on the new LCD monitors. Or are they not really anti-static?
There is a Robin Hood effect -- most people perceive celebrities and studios to be rich already and as a result don't think of movie downloading as a big deal.
It's not so much of "rich already" but more of "richer than me". Most movie pirates don't give a jack downloading movies because they know the producer and the crew would probably still have proper meals after "we" rapez their screener.
Of 1,800 consumers surveyed, just 21 had spent more than $400 for a cell phone.
I bet they didn't ask us in Hong Kong. A $400US phone is nothing here. All my friends have phones in the $500+ range, and most are on their 6th one. People spend money in a different manner here. And I think mostly because most people don't have a car here and they needs to spend the cash somewhere else. Many people spend it on gadgets. Most don't even care about the specs. If it's new, buy it, if it looks cool, buy it. Most importantly, if it's expensive, raises your social status, and enlarges your penis, buy 2.
I am telling you $400 is average for a phone in Hong Kong. And I bet it's the same in the cell phone populated cities in greater China. Probably more so in Japan.

Dude I am an ass. But that doesn't strip me the right to call asses when I smell them. I don't care if I look good because I know this can't be done. I don't debate it, I know it.
Can this all-powerful company certify that MS Word will install, run, and save flawlessly on all "Vista-Ready" computers with Vista installed? Stop projecting "cuz when it's done I look like shit scenario". TFA is about Vista. And I am posting within the Vista time frame. Have you ever seen "street fighter" hang in the arcades? Have you ever had your OS hanged? Have you ever used a "Windows Ready" notebook that hangs Windows? It's perfectly fine it hangs IMO, because it doesn't say hang-proof. It says Windows-Ready.
Why is it ok to hang? It's because it's impossible for mickeysoft to test every single brand of hardware before, during, and after the OS launches. Even with WHQL, every driver installation, or Windows Update runs, or even default clock speed / PCI latency values of certain video cards / sound cards, there's a possibility that it'll hang. A PC is not a hacked Xbox with trivial HDD mods. A PC changes over time over the same installed OS.
If moneysoft wants to put a label and do the boxes, nobody can stop them. But please stop BS'ing people if you buy the games with a green box, it'll install and run flawlessly on your Vista Certified PC, whatever that means.
Apart from the comments on "glare" upstairs, anyone notice the CRT monitors picture will actually shift with changing orientations? Ever had that annoy the hell out of you when there's one corner on the CRT you can never get it perfectly aligned? Try rotating it 90 degrees.
Ever listen to the radio? Noticed that sometimes there's better reception if you move around in the house? What about cell phones?
Despair no more! We've invented this rotating residential so instead of you moving to get better reception, everyone gets better reception once every rotation! It's all fair! Come live in this fair place.

"A study concludes that people who play car racing games may be more likely to take risks and drive aggressively when driving in real life."
Another study concludes that people who suck playing a driving game with a proper FFB wheel may be more likely to drive hesitantly in real life.

Violence is a general term to describe actions, usually deliberate, that cause or intend to cause injury to people, animals, or non-living objects.
I am so going to injure my RAM by running them intentionally at 2.75V!!!! noes!!!
Seriously all you gotto do to submit footage is to go into a coffee shop, upload the vid to the press.
I bet 3M can do a better job with this than anyone. Make a non-stick so the dust won't carry.
