Do any of these other games have a GRAVITY GUN? No? Well let's continue then.
Well actually, there are Far Cry LUA scripts out there that enable the player to do the same (lift objects, and throw them), and it is fairly simple to implement according to the author, aarbro. So there could be a gravity gun in Far Cry, it only needs a model. See here
As a Far Cry modder, I find it promising, and I'd like it to be included in the FC mod I'm working for, provided it isn't too harsh on bandwith (this needs to be tested)
Yes, I admit this post was a way to pimp my mod... sorry about that.
Yeah, reminder adds are nice -especially when funny- but they only work with people who are willing (or at least not reluctant) to turn their phone off, or silence them in the first place.
I mean, I've seen people here in France purposely making phone calls during a movie, because the movie was annoying them but they didn't want to leave, and rather chat with their friends and annoy people around. The trouble is usually, telling this people to remain quiet is useless, as they will make even more noise to annoy you, and additionnally use you as a target for pop corn throwing. Of course I'm exagerating, but not that much.
The problem is that nowadays, with major theater networks offering cheap monthly subscriptions (like 18 euro a month), people can watch all the movies they want for the price of two regular tickets. So if they see a couple of good movies within a month, anything else they see is regarded as a bonus. And if they think the bonus movies are lame, that's no big deal since they virtually don't pay anything. That (and an obvious lack of manners) is why some people assess they can ruin a movie for everyone if they feel like it.
I also thought I would be really thrilling to see this brought to the silver screen. But then, you would need a damn good director to show how claustrophobic the story can get (like the first time in Floyd's Tomb, or when Ted breaks his light on his last logged trip). I mean he would have to deal with moments of complete darkness, with only sounds to express what Ted is doing, or what state of mind he's in. Pretty difficult to do, but if done properly I would love to see that.
Also the director would have to resist the temptation to actually show what lies deep inside the cave, and just let the audience's imagination work. That usually gives the best results.
Oh and IMO the ending is perfect as it is.
I mean, scariest 404 ever:)
It sure doesn't but its main benefit over QWERTY, according to Dvorak users, is increased comfort (less finger/wrist injury due to less finger/wrist movement)
Having never used a Dvorak keyboard, I can't say which one is better for me in terms of comfort, but I sure have already suffered wristache after using a QWERTY keyboard for too long.
With Pentium Ms (or Athlon 64s), you wouldn't have that problem, since they can run slower (ergo cooler) when idle, or performing low cpu time consuming tasks.
My A64 runs at 800Mhz when i'm surfing or reading my mail (although it used to stay at 800Mhz when I fired up Photoshop with the early version of the processor driver, which was quite annoying - fixed now)
Last year I went to see the re-release of And now for something completely different.
Strangely enough most of the people in the theater (including me) were in their twenties, way to young to have seen the movie or even the tv series when it first came out.
Well, nevertheless, I have never ever heard a crowd laughing that loud.
Actually, Monti could legally fine Microsoft up to 10% of their annual income, according to european anti trust laws. That would be about 3 billion dollars. So yeah, technically, Monti could get 5 times nastier. Or so.
You can get the z2 DVDs from Japan, as they have english subtitles (I did it, eventhough english is not my native tongue). The translation quality is a bit poor, though.
I'll have to third that. The AE-1 (Program or not) is a very good camera for learners. I started with it but sadly, mine died several years ago (its previous owner was not exactly careful with it, but I had it for free)
Now i'm using a 1978 A-1 which is superior to the AE-1 (more features, handling is easier, picture quality is a bit better IMHO) and I still can find many FD type lenses for it. The only trouble with this camera is power consumption. Once the 6V battery's a bit weak, nothing will work correctly.
In my country (France), there's a law protecting your personnal data even if you've made them public.
This law from 1978 says that you have a right to access, modify and delete any information concerning yourself, in any file or database of any company, organization, or individual.
If that access is denied, then you can sue the database owner.
I have even seen people suing the company I work for (a bank), because they found out there were unpleasant comments about them in our databases. And they won.
The Front Light Unit (or FLU) for GP32 is to be released on the 10 of April (6 days from now, yaï!;)
It will be possible from that day on to buy pre-modded GP32's.
Actually, the GBA emu is in private beta stage, but it's possible to get your hands on it if you ask nicely on #gp32dev (efnet i think).
Currently, it does run reeeeeeeeeaaaaalllllyyyy slooooooow, but considering it is a straight 2 days port (100% C, no assembler), that is pretty good.
Additionally, there is a list of other emus for GP32:
GB/GBC (2 emus)
GBA (currently in private beta)
Nes (2 emus, both are Infones ports)
SMS / GG (2 emus)
PC Engine/Coregraphx (2 emus, one is near perfect, the other is discontinued)
SNES (2 emus, one discontinued)
MD/Genesis (hasn't been released yet, since there are negociations between GamePark and Sega, and the emu author doesn't want to interfere)
MSX (really nice and complete emu)
NeoGeo Pocket Color (currently in private beta)
Wonderswan (discontinued?)
Zx Spectrum
Commodore Plus4
C64
Arcade (Oldies like Pacman, Space Invaders, and such, plus Mame 0.66 is being ported by rlyeh, author of the excellents fMSX32 and fNES32)
Moreover, several classic games have been ported more or less succesfully to the GP32:
Rick Dangerous
Elite the Newkind
Wolfenstein 3D
Doom
Heretic
Descent
LucasArts' adventure games via ScummVM
Sierra's early adventure games via Sarien AGI interpreter
You should also know that some pretty neat stuff has been developped for this pretty neat handeld:
3 MP3 players (one comes with the console)
3 Divx (4.12) players (one has been discontinued, another on is commercial, the 3 of them are still a bit slow)
an e-book reader
Gif, Jpeg, PNG viewers
Custom GUIs and Firmwares
a Java VM and a Flash player are rumoured
Linux and Windows CE are bieng ported over
Lots of stuff i forgot to mention
And i didn't even talk about commercial nor amateur games.
(I own a GP32, I'm sure you guessed. The only thing i'm not happy with, is that it should be able to connect to the Internet, but yet this feature isn't availiable)
Hmmm,
Wouldn't it be better if we'd let those harmful agents infect our cells and let our body learn how to produce matching antibodies by itself?
Like, you know, the natural way.
As a matter of fact, I've been playing The House of the Dead III (which is based on the Chihiro board) in my favourite arcade (here in Paris) for more than one month...
Actually, Assurancetourix is the lame bard, always trying to sing, and always knocked out by the blacksmith, Cetautomatix ("C'est automatique": That's automatic), before he gets a chance to.
The Chief is named Abraracourcix, which is derived from a french idiomatic expression ("A bras raccourcis") meaning "violently" (as in attacking someone violently).
A possible word by word translation would be "with shortened arms", which means nothing, and is completely off-topic
I do not know where you live, but believe me, here in France when an American company does something stupid, we usually DO complain about the US in general.
Which is stupid nonetheless.

Ok that's it, i'm off to TaiPei to open a tinfoil hats shop.
I'm going to be RICH!
Wouldn't it be simpler to not let someone put something you don't want inside your body in the first place?
I mean, my body may be the only thing I really own, don't I have a right to refuse such implants?
Actually he said the GeForce 3, which was used for to run the demo, would be available on the Mac first.
Maybe you should mention that the UGC Les Halles Multiplex is located some ten meters below ground level

Agreed. It was terrible, and had little to nothing to do with the manga. Let's just ignore it.

Actually Motoko is more of a bisexual than a lesbian.
I like the bogus excuse of cyberbrain sex not working between male and female for showing some girl-to-girl action in GITS.

512kb should be enough for everybody...
