  1. Kill it already. on According To Star Trek: Discovery, Starfleet Still Runs Microsoft Windows (theverge.com) · · Score: 2, Informative

It's an idiotic series with no basis in any Star Trek lore. Hell, even fanfic is better.

  2. Well done!

  3. Re:That's harsh on Google Fires Author of Divisive Memo On Gender Differences (bloomberg.com) · · Score: 1

It does. Sadly, Google had to double-down to appease their SJW base. It was a lose-lose across the board.

  4. Uber. on Slashdot Asks: Your Favorite Ride-Sharing App? · · Score: 1

Pretty much Uber. Too many Lyft drivers here in Austin have that ridiculous pink mustache on their car. Drop that, and I'd be willing to use them. During Uber and Lyft's brief hiatus from servicing our area, I tried a few of the lesser competitors. They pretty much sucked, hard. The apps and service were bad. The apps crashed, and occasionally I'd be dropped as I was getting into the vehicle.

  5. Re:Not News for Nerds on Chicago To Make Future Plans a Graduation Requirement (thehill.com) · · Score: 2

I disagree. It matters because it's adding an unnecessary stipulation that really shouldn't be implemented.

That's a weak argument. NO Green Party member would have voted for Clinton, ever. The DNC should have fielded a better candidate. As for the article, as much as people want to complain. traveling to the US is not a right. You can be denied entry for pretty much any reason.

  7. Don't forget the Clinton Foundation as well.

  8. Re:another startup going *pop* on Etsy Slashes Almost a Quarter Of Its Staff In Attempt To Refocus (engadget.com) · · Score: 1

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. Etsy has never really proven itself to offer enough value beyond eBay.

Well, if I'm used on a trip to another planet, that's fine. If it's some lame "space delivery" to the ISS, that would suck.

  14. No, because as a taxpayer, I would like my money to go to supporting my fellow US citizens.

I'm not a fan of Gawker as a whole. Hopefully Univision can give them a bit of legitimacy, or at least hotter women.

From what little I've read about the new series, it wasn't going to appeal to me. I'll probably torrent a few episodes, just to make sure.

I was in the gymnasium with the rest of the school to watch the launch. After the explosion, they cancelled classes, and sent us home. It was weird, because I was excited to get an early release from school, but also sad that it was because of why they let us out.

  25. Re:#gamergate on Oculus Rift Pre-orders Begin At $600 (oculus.com) · · Score: 2

The Oculus' price has nothing to do with GamerGate. Now if Kotaku came out praising the Oculus, and telling all gamers to play Depression Quest on it, you might have a point.
