Have you worked with Eudora or supported people who did for any length of time?
"The table of contents file has been corrupted and must be rebuilt..."
"Something is rotten in the state of Denmark." -- actual Eudora error message...
Thunderbird might not be perfect (though I haven't had ANY data loss or hiccoughs like you describe since I migrated when 1.5 was released), but Eudora is NOT the standard of stability.
Hmmm, it would seem that one of the following is true:
1) Microsoft have decided to scale down the "public" test (by no longer issuing product keys)
2) GMail or Microsoft's mail servers are running particularly slow.
I went to the website an hour ago, submitted all of the information, received a message to confirm my passport, but not a message verifying my request for a product key, as per the instructions.
If everyone got together and it was discussed on a panel of people who dedicate their lives to stopping medical research on animals, and those people got the A-OK from the proper law enforcement authorities to firebomb the mans house, then I'd be OK with that. Thats due process at work, and if thats what the consensus is after having hashed out the options and differing opinions, I'd light the damn thing myself.
Let's just consider this thread Godwined, shall we?
The disc is thicker and might damage an ordinary cd/dvd drive if it is inserted by mistake. The larger diameter prevents this.
This strategy can't be sustained. What happens if yet another disc format medium appears on the market that is slightly thicker than this disc? Do we all go out and buy new cases with 6 inch drive bays to accommodate a slightly bigger disc? Or will the drives for the disc mentioned in this article be "future-proofed" by being able to accept a thicker disc without damaging themselves?
Joe Sixpack, you know, the guy who buys the Hemi, or puts the "Type R" sticker on his Honda Civic, will by the Blu-Ray DVD, because..well, it's "Blue". Blue is better, neater, more high tech, with less distortion, jitter, wow, and flutter. I mean, think of it, red has a long wavelength, blue shorter.
Uhm, no offense, but I don't think you know Joe Sixpack. Joe Sixpack isn't exactly familiar with the EM spectrum and has no idea as to which color has a higher frequency or what difference that would make.
If anything, Joe Sixpack would look at the name "Blu-Ray" and say "WTF is that?", and look at the name "HD-DVD" and say "Oh, DVDs for my HDTV."
My office has been using MeetingMaker, but PeopleCube refuses to sell us more seats unless we buy the new version of the product along with maintenance. So in all likelihood we'll be migrating to Exchange later this year.
It's really a shame that the FOSS community hasn't offered any viable alternatives - it doesn't seem like such an incredible task to get the most basic scheduling functionality. I'd make a feeble attempt at building the whole thing myself if I had the time...
Play your favorite tracks and check out the hundreds of presets of the visualization plugin Milkdrop (should be included in your download).
Milkdrop was written by Mr. Geiss, the guy behind the Geiss plugin (created YEARS ago for Winamp ver 2), which is what Apple shamelessly ripped off for the iTunes visualizer.
Milkdrop just plain rules, really puts iTunes' sad excuse for music visualization in its place.
I've been using a portable MiniDisc recorder for my field recordings, but the limited capacity, noise from spinup and short battery life are annoying.
A year or so ago I bought an iAudio 5 (by Cowon) which has a built-in mic and line-level input, but no mic input.
Is there any portable audio device (preferably flash-based) that has a mic-level input? Support for OGG or FLAC is a plus of course.
Wow... are you serious?

As the President has made clear with his actions, his administration is not concerned with what the world audience thinks.
And Americans are not well versed in elementary logic.
"If my shoulder hurts after an hour's play it means I'm actually getting a good workout in."
No, it means you're straining something.
Good workouts aren't followed by immediate pain - good workouts result in Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DOMS

And which extension plugs the embarassingly large memory leak? I'd like to know.
I lol'd.
How sad for you.
SARS is caused by a virus, not bacteria.
Alex Seropian is greed incarnate. He'd sell his own grandmother into slavery if Bill Gates offered him enough solid-gold Ferraris.

kthxbye

"Medievalist" means she likes to go the RenFaire
H A!!!!!!!
Uhm... exactly. So you mean you actually think the opinions of "RenFaire" patrons matter?
Ha...ahaha... AAAAAAAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Wouldn't it be nice to run the same system as everyone else you know, and still be using Linux?
Yes. Yes, it would.

Enacting legislation to restrict business is not the answer.
Says you, anonymous fuckwit Randroid.
the newest models of the 24 inch dell lcd panel support dvi hdcp.
You mean the one that Dell hasn't announced and isn't selling? Yeah, thanks, that helps a lot.
I don't speak kraut.
I don't want to see any stories about the XBox 360 until mods allowing playback of legally backed-up games are available.
