Me being a PC gamer, I didn't play FFXI PC for too long, because of the console-esque interface. For me, WoW feels much more polished, more rather than a console.
This is a bit off-topic, but I feel that it's still somehow strangely related to this. Namely pop-up ads in Firefox. I've noticed a growing trend of pop-ups, and pop-unders, coming right through the blocker in Firefox. I can remember that up to this point, I've had an about 0% rate of annoying pop-ups and now, just a lot.
Yes. Try is the keyword. But I'd think that instead of making a cheese with holes and fill up the holes with bubble gum, I'd make a cheese without holes.
What will kill it is the fact that in the consumer marketplace, the iPod is *the* thing to have, because everyone knows it works, it's "cool", and it's simple.
I need to agree on this one. One of the photos that had the H10 and Mini next to each other, if I'd choose -- I'd go for the Mini. Why? Because the sheer reason that compared to the H10, it looks much simpler. And is probably easier to use. Note probably, because I have not used a H10. The the button interface looks a lot different than the iRiver that I had been trying out some time ago. Sure, there's OGG, photo, yada yada and whatnot. Apple's got the wheel. It's on 1G iPod's, it's on 2G, still up to the latest 4G. It's got the same button layout, only with different kind of buttons, but it still works the same way. And when there are buttons that say "Play/Pause", "Previous", "Next" and "Menu", can you go far off?
It appears many non-techies are afraid to get rid of things, even if they are bad, as they fear it will screw up their computer somehow.
I think this is part of the "Windows mentality", so to call it. This might be a bit off topic to the news post or even the parent comment, but it seems that all non-savvy computer users who run Windows seem to be afraid of doing anything, because it'll break. None of the people I know that run on either Linux or Mac, that are new to computers, seem to be complaining that their computer isn't working, whereas the Windows users solution to the problems that they face daily is "Maybe you should restart", "Have you cleaned your desktop from unnecessary icons?", hell, why not say "The moon's aligned in a wrong way relative to Pisces and Cancer, you should wait 42 days" while they're at it.
I loved the use of language in the first game. "We got a present for the hard-working prince, but We couldn't be bothered to pick it up. Roll it up while you're at it."
Also, if you're interested, I strongly recommend getting Klonoa 2 for PS2. That and Katamari are my all time favorites. 3
And I can't seem to be thinking Katamari as a cruel game, even when you're thinking about that fact that you're rolling a ball of things, including people and animals, and then just send 'em out to space. Lovely.
Charges probably yes. I highly doubt it'll be GPRS though. With UMTS and EDGE-GPRS coming their way around the corner, things will probably speed up a little. I think the providers will probably lower the costs of transfer/MB (at least so I'm thinking by my experience here in Finland) as these things become more common, or alternatively, they'll have more "air-bandwidth" available to offer for a cheaper price. Of course, the providers could keep the prices sky high, but that would be another matter. Here in Finland, there's a service called Muistikuva - a service where you can send your phone taken pictures over MMS or e-mail from your phone to your personal album/gallery (Incredulous, blatant SPAM/plug !!) - it's been pretty popular, since the GPRS costs with many operators have come down to a pretty reasonable price -- around 1.10€/MB IIRC. The cheapest are the new operators, which have been starting to break into the market, since there are still many conservative operators who charge 6€ per transferred MB. Went a bit offtopic there. O:)
(Minella is also the voice of Omochao, which is a pretty impressive, if slightly annoying, voice.)
IMHO the english Omochao voice was somehow too "grown up". I know japanese voices usually tend to sound a bit (okay, a lot) younger, but the japanese Omochao voice was spot-on, while the english sounded , gosh, sooo like a teenager.
Once you register your CD-Key with Valve through Steam, you can play the game, get updates quickly, and run the game on any machine with Steam installed (after it downloads the necessary data, of course).
Only thing is, that the instant that a patch for a game appears, the system gets so clogged that it isn't funny anymore. Think when that happens, and you want to play off-line.
I have to agree with you on this one. There are a few levels in Super Monkey Ball 2 that will make you swear like no tomorrow -- need I say the name "Launchers"? I must admit, I'm not as skilled with the game, i.e. not having Master mode unlocked, but even after I got it in January 2002, it's one of the only games that frequently runs on my GC, while the other games change.
BTW, the Arthropod level, with the spider thing, that is one of those levels that I find myself thinking if it should be there or not -- since it's pretty possible if you have a proper timing. I must agree with you on Switch Inferno though. Altough, when I think of it -- quite many levels in SMB2 compared to the original are sortof levels that you need to manipulate luck to get into the best exit (Free Fall or Air Hockey as examples).
I'm kind of, sortof, disappointed at this event and having no Dance Dance Revolution (or other dancing game) competition, while it's name is "Video Game Olympics".
IIRC, back in the times of ye olde mp3.com, some pop stuff got put there. Again, IIRC, there was a nice amount of "well known" names for downloads there.
Altough, this sortof made me go away from mp3.com. It used to be a place where new talents could get their stuff heard, but this time the record companies were "evil" and put their mass-market stuff there as well. Only the super-popular "new artists" survived after.
I'm sorry - but is it just me that thinks the sight of someone talking to their Gameboy would look ridiculous?
People have been sidetalking in their N-gages (well, the ones that got one at least) for some while now, so there's no way talking into a Nintendo DS will look ridiculous.

Jasc has some serious competition coming up.
I'm afraid that three-letter sequence is now patented. You can expect to hear from our lawyers soon.
All of a sudden, I come to think of The Wizard.
...where is the first "First post!!!1one"?

The finnish channel MTV3 reported about the Firefox release on their news broadcast.
In the meanwhile this -might- provide slight entertainment while waiting for Duke Nukem Forever. Luckily they haven't hyped it.
Come to think of the NYC Video Festival Red vs Blue extra.
- Hi, I am Nigerian royalty, and I want you to send me money. Please disregard the fact that I can't spell Nigeria or royalty.

Exactly. That's why the world sucks and everybody should just die away.
