Who has time for intuitive, elegant design REFERRING TO THE ONE BUTTON MOUSE...
when there is so much clicking to do? REFERRING TO THE TWO BUTTON MOUSE.
In other words, Apple is saying, regardless of how intuitive it is to have a single button mouse, they are making way for a much needed two button mouse.
Do you get it now!?

But now we have people misusing excel. Someone who has never used a spread sheet before uses excel to store database like information when. Lists of addresses, business contacts. etc...
One inadvertant click of a title bar and all their information is messed.
I had an incident happen a few years ago, me and my wife were playing cat and mouse on a hiway, and we both got pulled over and charged with racing (which is a criminal offence). We went to one of those x-cop representatives. The dude was friends with the judge and he basically told the judge that he'll tie up his court room for days with pointless beaurocratic jibba jabba unless he drops the charge.
He dropped the charge.
Regardless of what the pious and righteous 'justice' system may think of itself, nine times out of ten, it is above the law.
I don't know if that will happen. The original failure had on the surface everything to do with the ratings. The ratings on the other hand had everything to do with FOX's distain for Futurama. They didn't deliver what they wanted and FOX's promotional forces hit Futurama hard. Here's an example of what I'm talking about.
"Don't miss Futurama, followed by Malcolm in The Middle, and then the Simpsons at eight tonight. Remember it all starts at 8:00pm"
But perhaps the execubots have decided otherwise this time around.
And 50% of computers? That's an insane lowball if you ask me. I think the CD has served computers far better than you are speculating. But it's time is definately coming.
As for the comment about removable media in general. I haven't used removable media since emptying my hard drive during the napster years.
I am sticking with QuickSilver.
After a week of using it, SpotLight is ultra slow compared to QS. It doesn't develop intelligience like QuickSilver either.
Where, I type C A L, and iCal comes up first, I scroll down and pick Calculator. The next time I type C A L, calculator comes up first...
I haven't tried the main Spotlight window very much however, I just used it for the quick referencing. But your point rang true with me. As far as spotlight is concerned, your entire file system could be in a one tier directory. It does change the organization philosophy.
I keep slamming mine against door frames when I've got it in my jacket pocket, and no problems, yet. Even my nikon needed a re-calibration after going mono-a-mono with a door frame.
I see the next gen chip (g6?), the cell processors from IBM going into Powerbooks next. They are 64bit, PPC Architecture, scalable to fit, cheaper (since sony, toshiba are others are dumping millions into their development), and will move to 65nm much more readily.
I could see a g4 speed bump once or twice over the next year.
I attended a seminar on the future of Quantum computing. Fascinating. Using an electrons spin (clockwise or counterclockwise) as the gate signals. Most fascinating was the putforth theory of controlling subsequent electron orbitals at the same time. Sending multiple signals at once.
The only difference is that apple is fuckin awesome at what they do. 80% share is a result of this factor, rather than monopolistic practises.
Besides, you can convert any.acc song into.mp3 through iTunes..mp4 is the open standard anyway, not.acc. It's not like apple has stolen mp4 from the world.
Being able to afford it doesn't matter to me. I'm content with my 20gigs residing on my computer UNTIL I can afford an iPod. I'd rather wait then waste money on something I don't want.
I think the price point, premium but attainable, heightens it's desirability. As well as the unwillingness to settle.
Besides, marketting it as functional, for most players, would be false advertising. TROLL ME UP BABY!
Ahem!!!

That being said, I can now confidently say that ChessWizard 8000 is slated for an early release. Why wait for the other guy? Buy your license today!
1. Vapourware? Check...
2. F..U.. and D? Check, Check and Check!
I think the point is that, half the time, the officer never shows up. Case closed, you're free to go.
Heh, Nice story.

You are technically correct, the best kind of correct.
OMG my favourite, A Taste of Freedom.
Fry: Who are you old man?
Old Man Waterfall: Name's Old Man Waterfall, but folks just call me, Old Man.
Fry: I'll never remember that.

"Even at this moment our buttons and boxes are crushing their .'s and #'s"

One CD is bigger than 487 floppies?

Dude, cus the yugo engine goes in the trunk until you want to play games.... Boot it from an enternal drive.
Yes that all might be true, but the right answer is often the obvious and easiest answer. In this case it would be...
OMGROLF!!117e, Tehy can't get IE 7 TO WROK IN WINBLOWS 2k!!!!1
Does having a passion about wasting my time at work playing solitaire count?

I love Firefox. It's fairly fast (not startup, but in use)
It's faster than IE. It takes IE at least 60 seconds to start everytime I power up. It even needs a progress bar.
