The company that I work at pushed the KB835732 patch out to a few thousand machines. It caused some incompatability issue that cause Windows to blue screen with the error "Winsrv.dll missing or corrupt", its been a blast removing the patch through recovery console, especially walking remote users through it.
"ABC7's Jim Wieder reports supervisors aren't happy to hear the suspect got away."
This is confusing on many levels. First, how did a person on a Segway out run the police? Second, how many people do you see on a Segway? Third, why did some one buy a Segway?
Disclaimer: These questions do not require a response as I understand that people on foot can escape police but any witty reponse (see funny) would be appreciated. Thanks-

I can't see myself paying that much for a gaming machine. I can buy a PS2/XBOX/GAMECUBE for less than 200 dollars. I could even buy all three and a decent amount of games for each system for less than 2,000. I know, they can only play games but isn't that the point of a gaming pc? I wouldn't want to put my gaming pc on the internet, because then I would have to worry about viruses, which means I have to install a firewall, virus scanner etc which would just slow down my game play. A gaming system works like it should. I don't have to make sure I have the newest video card, all games will work. It plays games with no blue screens, drivers to intall, or patches. Not to mention its easy to stick in my car and play where ever I can find a tv.
I had the same thing happen. The person had changed a 1 to a 7. I called the bank, they told me that it would take 3 days to research the problem. After hanging up the phone I found the receipt and noticed the problem. I called the bank help desk and told them I had the receipt and it showed what account it had actually posted to. Once again they told me it would take 3 days to research. Why? I had the account number it posted to. I hope they fired the person that screwed this up.
If she is just wanting to learn to program then I would recommend PHP, HTML and Javascript. It can be as complicated or simple as you like. She'll be able to show what she has done to everyone on the web also. If she is wanting to make 3d games then I would suggest C++.

I predict that the website will in the near future not load but show an error. It will be known as the "slashdot effect". I also predict that some one will comment on the fact this is the second article about the future. I also see that in the near future I will be modded down...
Certainly, our personal computer will remember anything we've ever seen or done online. A complete HDTV record of every waking hour of your life will consume 2 percent of your hard disk.
Doesn't it already do this, its called history. I see that he is saying it will screen capture all of it, but why? This article doesn't really predict anything but just states the obvious. Yes, we will have faster processors and more hard drive space, bigger screens, higher resolutions, amazing predictions! But I want to know when my computer will talk to my car and refrigerator and let me know when I'm driving to the grocery store that my son (future son) just drank the last of the milk.
I would like the scientist that predict global warming to do my local weather report. I mean the weather guys can barely get the next 3 days of weather correct but I'm supposed to believe that some scientist can predict the next hundred years...come on...thats funny.
I really doubt geeks get to "Poker" much...mwhaahahaha! Oh but seriously I hear you can make some fat cash from playing online because you can play more than one game at a time. I'm sure I'd just go broke faster though.
Until recently, when customers switched carriers, their numbers changed as well, so marketers were reluctant to invest much in compiling databases.
For once I thought that something good was being done for the consumer...my mistake.

and a lot of companies aren't willing to do alternative marketing and want to stick to the same thing,"
Alternative marketing eh? I guess FOX also decided to advertise the movie on/. because I see very little info in the article about the shirt but plenty
about Fox.

I must say that I am shocked to hear that some thing like this could take place, and on the internet of all places. I thought that every thing I read on the internet was true and that I would make millions from forwarding emails and that hot 18 year old on AIM that wants me is not a man. Oh wait, I'm retarded...
Trust nothing you read on the internet...I am sexy!

Yeah, I mean Star Wars has always been so realistic with light sabers and flying thru space its a shame for them to ruin it all now with lava surfing.
I hate Jar Jar.

Don't buy a DVD burner now. Wait. Or you'll be kicking yourself.
Bought myself an 8x DVD burner about 6 months ago. Have had no problems copying DVD movies or data. I shall not kick myself.
