1. No america only servers. While you may think this is just Nationalism at its worst, you've got to realize that the Japanese players are 1 year ahead of most american players, and the cultures tend to clash a lot as well.
true JPs are ahead of ENs but i think the culture clash is a good thing. JPs learn about ENs and vice versa.
2. No way to test a mob. If I find out that I'm not good enough to fight a rabbit, after I start fighting him, I'm dead. No running away. No second chances, just death. No way to test strategies.
CTRL + C its in the owners manual. so RTFM
3. Cant choose servers till you waste time and buy a world pass. Sure, it may seem like a small thing to you, but to us that want to play with their friends as soon as possible, its a huge freaking annoyance.
this was a technique used to stabilize server numbers. if you could choose which server your on everyone would choose server A and it would be lagging all the time.
4.Personal reasons, which include bad control schemes, PS2 Owners with the maturity of a 10 year old, Non-intuitive interface and gameplay, Level grinds with heavy focus on grouping, and very little customization options.
i find the controls very easy. although the default controls did suck a little if you go into config and select a compact keyboard you get a very nice interface. the menu iterface has been similiar across all FFs so if you find it unituitive you must not have liked FF1 very much. grouping.... umm you know it's a MMO right? customization options in what sense? i would agree there are low graphic customization options but there is a large amount of options none the less.
i have a memory doubler. it actually expands your memory to 4 gigs per process no matter how much memory you have. unfortunately it does grind the machine to a halt. this product can be found here
its not the OS. its the fact that to save money the windows boxes don't have to pass as many army mandated tests. such as those for air drops, EMI, dust/wind/sand, etc. one just happens to be water. i believe the tests states (in laymans) that the machine must be able to withstand a air drop and land in water no deeper then 3 feet. the windows machines don't have to pass this test
this is crap. i work for the army and i know the parent poster is correct. i have seen numerous unix projects cancelled only to be replaced by windows/.NET projects. the only reason.... costs. they see cheap laptops and highly mobile servers and if they break just junk it and replace. the F-ed up part is the unix machines passed more tests the windows boxes for air drops, people drops, EMI tests, etc. i heard of some troops being air dropped some dell laptops which fell into a small pond. effectively wasting 30k on 6 laptops that are worthless. the unix machines though which roughly costs 20-30k each would have had no problem with the air drop and falling in the pond. yes unix boxes are scatted around mostly for the "legacy" systems which don't have money yet or are in the process of getting ported to windows.
you want to bring down the US Army splice a network cable in at the TS level and unless the newest Outlook worm.
that isnt what a vulerability DB is. it's not a huge patch server. its a place you can goto to see if an error you found while messing with bash (and accidently get root access) 1. has been reported 2. if there is a work around and 3. report it if it is a. repeatable and b. not yet reported.
i donno WTF you are talking about. i haven't stopped laughing all F-ing day. i'm beginning to think my office-mates think i just have the giggles today. this is some funny s**t.
the super parent wants a serious discussion about this topic however i think that that person has failed to realize that in this Goerge W. Bush Utopia that some of us live in called the U.S. of A. that anyone not falling into line as "normal" is no longer left alone but harassed beyond belief until they either give up and become "normal" or die.
as others have pointed out a medical ID tag might have changed this occurence. if he was wearing an ID tag the officer (if smart) would have noticed and called a paramedic instead of arresting without questioning.
"o I guess if I take your post and this one I can forget any chance of a real debate or discussion on quite the serious issue."
nah it isn't that. it's more of the fact that the police can do anything that they feel is neccessary to protect them and you. so if they feel your erratic behavior was endangering any other people them or you, they will arrest you.
it was obvious that his erratic behavior was caused by the 10 kilos of cocaine that he had while setting up the WMD to destroy the entire casino population. i for one am glad they arrested him when they did!
"We need to be making great games, and the marketplace told us that we're just not at that level."
when have you guys made anything great? it's ok take your time to think about it....
only MS game i ever played was Halo and i didnt even like it. i played it because i bought an xbox and i beat the oddworld game too quick.
plus do we really need more sports titles anyway? there are like 10 variations of each sport possible, and they all are released every year with the new team info.
although i agree with you in one sense. give the relatively low number of *nix exploits found compared to windows exploits found if this was all slashdot reported it would be "news for nerds stuff that mattered" it would be "bug for windows stuff for hackers"
i personally think they are relying too much on gov contracts to fund them and they are losing there because of "cheap" windows computers.
as far as i am conerned.... .NET is a way for MS to see YOUR code without you seeing THEIR code.
.NET then we will talk
re-write MS Office in
sorry for not being up on my TV technologies but i was planning on gettitng a DLP TV soon and was wondering if they were effected?
is there a way i can test in the store?
i know. it is a joke. i'm saying the FFXI is a great game.

it is listed under "Other" taking up 30% of the market share.

yes in BTTF the car was a stick shift.
how long until phone companies start paying off contractors to use these special anti cell phone materials so they can sell more land lines?

you know i hate the company but it has already been done and is most likely a better DB.

maybe they fulfill their claim by executing the following commands
deltree C:\Program Files\Outlook Express
deltree C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer
deltree C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office

"picking up words that havent been spoken yet"
Like "Blathering Blatherskite.... i am GIZMO DUCK"
is it scarey that this got marked "informative" as opposed to "funny"?
why are we changing the internet to make money?
