    I found This book very useful while studying organic.

    More generally, don't try to memorize tens of different reactions. Just remember the important principles, like how to draw lewis structures, which atoms are nucleophiles and which are electrophiles and Markonikov's rule etc. And solve as many mechanism/synthesis problems as you can find.

    Recently I bought Morrowind second hand for about half the priceI could buy it new. It was pretty much an impulse purchase and if the price was much higher I probably wouldnt have bought it.

    About 3 days later I bought a new copy of the Tribunal expansion and I'm going to buy the Bloodmoon expansion this week. So the makers have got some money out of me, and they probably wouldn't have gotten any if I hadn;t been able to buy second-hand.

    Some friends of mine are in the legally dubious recational pharmaceutical business. Somehow they managed to lock themselves out of the computer with a BIOS password.

    I fixed it by moving the BIOS battery jumper and in return they gave me $20(price they sell it at, they get it for much less) worth of chemicals. I was professional and didn't consume any until I fixed the computer and everybody was happy.

    I think you're wrong about the slippery slope part. e.g Is a site with people in swimsuits porn,

    what about people in underwear,

    nude-but-can't-see-the-naughty-bits erotic art,

    Janet Jackson's nipple,

    dirty stories,

    Mills and Boon novels.

    There are a lot of different viewpoints on where to draw the line.

    But I do like the main idea.

    Definetely, personally I'd prefer the democrats to be in charge but it'll be a long time waiting for that to happen. Latham has been pretty impressive in the last couple of months.

    SDL and OpenGL do pretty much the same thing as DirectX. With, IMHO a much shallower learning curve.

    I find myself using my imagination a lot more when I'm playing nethack or something similiar. The graphics in diablo are nice but my mind has a way better resoloution.

    There's a lot of comments about whther or not his is useful or just stupid. While you probably wouldn't be running a database on your gamecube (unless they port apache and python as well, for a very cheap web server), this ensures postgresql is platform independent which makes it easier to port to other more useful systems.

    I did 6 months work experience at a small IT security place a while ago, the work is interesting and management/paperwork is no worse than anywhere else.
