I wouldn't pay more than $5 for an episode of any game. 5 hours of gameplay is worth about $5 bucks in my opinion. So, in response to your statement that this might be a "happy start for the age of episodic content", i'll have to say no Zonk, no it's not.
At least they are trying this crap with Halo 2 and not a good PC FPS. Let's hope it doesn't work out too well for them so they don't do it with something us PC fans actually care about.
Why are people bringing up franchises and sequels? That is NOT what is meant by episodic content. Nintendo is basically saying they aren't going to release an unfinished product, just so they can make you pay more in the future for the rest of the game.
I applaud Nintendo for taking this stance. At least one of the big 3 has some respect for their customers.
No, i'm just talking about being able to aim quickly and accurately. I'm not even referring to a gun mod. The Wii offers the closest thing you'll get to a PC mouse, and any of us serious FPS people will tell you, a mouse is superior to a conventional console controller...by far.
I'm sure you'll see many people who DO like FPS buying the Wii. It is, in fact, the only console which has a controller that lends itself perfectly to FPS's.
I think it will be very difficult for Sony to convince people not to just get an Xbox 360 and a Wii instead of their console. You can get the entire spectrum with the Xbox 360 and Wii, and they both arguably will do a better job at what they were designed to do than Sony's new console, with the exception of HD, which Sony might have an edge on the XBox 360 with. I honestly don't think we'll be able to tell the difference between the two graphically.

Sony will definitely be fighting an uphill battle, especially if Blu-Ray fails to take off.
You're right. It's not "next-gen" like PS3 or Xbox360. It's basically starting a new generation of gaming. The Wii has the potential to take gaming to an entirely new level that could not be reached by the PS3 or Xbox360.
I say potential because it all depends on how well the new controller is utilized, althought seeing how Sony is already scrambling to add similar technology to their controller, it looks like Nintendo isn't the only one that thinks the Wii will be a huge success that changes the face of gaming.
Oh I completely agree they did a half assed job on the PC version. I bought the PC version when it was released and was very disappointed.
I was refering to what Bethesda stated in their response about the ESRB rating change. They stated that there is no nude content in the game. Is there any confirmation that these nude meshes were anything more than skin color textures with no detail whatsoever?
The fact remains, the ESRB should not be making changes based off of 3rd party mods. At the most they should have a warning stating that "Gameplay experience may change due to 3rd party modifications" or whatever. If they had decided it was too violent, based on the game as is, and that warrented a rating change that would be fine.
Why doesn't the ESRB just go ahead and label every PC game as mature since the same thing can be done to every other game. The ESRB has officially failed at doing their job.
You might want to head over to http://www.warioworld.com/ to get an idea for the process you have to go through in order to get your hands on previous dev kits. I believe metrowerks makes tools for game dev http://www.metrowerks.com/.
Now, things may be different for the rev since it looks like they might let indy devs get their hands on these relatively easily, but in the past I think you needed a dev license just to obtain the kits.
I'm in the same boat as you, I'd really like to work on this system as well.
Yes, that is correct, I just wanted to emphasize the fact that you didn't have to actually point at particular point on the screen to shoot there. Aiming would be handled by hand movement (like you said), and the attachment would handle player movement.
What's nice about that is you can just have your hand on your lap, and your arm would never get tired.
I don't think you'll see any light gun style games on the revolution. I mean, if you REALLY wanted to you could point the controller at the TV, but it wouldn't make any difference. The revo controller will allow you to aim by hand movement, similar to a mouse.
You guys are going to hate me...but I was so excited to hear they were bringing Saved by the Bell to Adult Swim. I loved the show when I was a kid, and it's more hilarious now (although for different reasons haha).
I think the real problems with Adult Swim, and I don't know if they still run these, are 12oz. mouse, Tom, Squidbillies, etc. They were horrible and I went back to watching comedy central during those time slots when they started running them. Saved by the Bell just brought me back.
But i'm a weirdo, so I might be in the minority here.
Don't let facts get in the way of your speculation.
And by the way, ads never say "exaggerated for effect". Whether or not small movement is "gay", as you put it, it is what makes a controller like that stunning. We shouldn't *have* to flail our arms around wildly to play games, and luckily we won't have to.
Yeah, I guess I should ignore any commentary by people who have actually had a chance to use it. I hope you don't take all exaggerated advertisements as literally as the initial teaser video.
It wouldn't be so "exciting" and "flashy" if they showed people sitting there barely moving the controller (which is in fact what you will be doing). What marketing droid would do that?
Please think before you make ridiculous comments like that. If you have some kind of grudge against Nintendo that's fine. You can express that easily in other ways. If not, do a little research before ranting about black eyes and broken vases. It's laughable.
Xbox never had more than a few decent titles, and so far Xbox 2 doesn't have much to offer either. Not very hardcore if you ask me. Job done Microsoft. You can go home early today.
I'm not sure how you got modded insightful for spreading misinformation. I'd love to see where you got the notion that the rev controller will require more than slight hand rotation and movement.
Last time I checked nobody got injured writing a book report.
I really hope laws are passed through every state that will completely ban cell phone use while driving a car. I am very suprised at many of the comments here that think this is ridiculous.
Driving around in a car is dangerous enough without people chatting on their cell phones while they are trying to yell at little Jimmy in the back seat and apply their make-up.
Go talk on your cell phone all you want when my life is not in your hands.
It's nice to see something like this, even if it is only because of elections coming up.
If that is the case then they are going to be in just as much trouble as MS. Lets hope Nintendo has the consumer in mind. That would definitely put them way ahead of the competition in the online aspect of the next gen consoles. Once people realize they are being charged more for what should of been on the disc to begin with they will not give in to these kinds of tactics. The majority at least. There will always be diehard fans that will pay for things like that, but they will be the minority.

Most likely Windows...you see how fast that one Angel infected the system!?
All kidding aside, all this talk about Neon Genesis Evangelion makes me want to rewatch the series again.

I hope they release it for the PC as well. I have no intention of ever buying a 360, but Shadowrun was awesome.

Plus you need to have good people skills for that job :p
Leave it to Zonk to post something like this. What a moron. Next time do a little research. You're basically useless.
R.I.P. Lionhead. I hope they at least gave you a plot next to Rare. I'll come lay some flowers.
