back when i had IDE hard disks (before 'ohhh sata hard disks sound cool'), all was well in my sheet metal black case, LILO nestled neatly in the MBR dual booting slackware and windows. now with a sata disk for windows, and a IDE disk for slackare (as well as an empty sata disk meant for linux, if i could omly figure out how to work the damn thing on linux!!) i now have LILO on a floppy, and take it out when i need to boot windows.
i remember watching FOX news a few months ago (i was watching discovery and FOX is one down....hmm never thought i would have to justify my reasons for watching a channel), we get it on our Satellite broadcaster SKY started by that lovely chap Murdoch here in britian, anyway their was this "chat show" program on with annoying blond hosting it.
Very excitedly she had just started covering a car chase in LA, and the crowed where whooping and cheering at near misses with her making stupid comments.
yes it does look similar but it is tiny in comparison to the behemoth of the space shuttle. Also SS1 isn't going into space proper nor is it designed for people and cargo.
Small space planes are fine to use for sending people into space, their isnt the inherent problems with heat distribution etc you get with large space planes.
I remember my old maths teacher telling my class a story about when he was at university 'back in the day'.
The class had just finished thier semester projects, and a few of them where walking arcoss the quad to go hand in them in, when this guy holding his punch card project in a box lid tripped and 500 nicely ordered punch cards fluttered merrily arcoss the quad.
did you accidently get blasted into space when having a tour on one of the shuttles?/crappy 80s kids film.//wanted to be on the said shuttle.///was it true?
I'm joking obviously.....
The Britsh educational system isnt alot better!
If you want to go private (public) and have you have the money the entry test is usually ignored. its really only useful for underprivileged kids to get bursaries to get in.
The axing of the English Grammar schools has seriously damaged educational prospects for working class kids (and middle classes who cant afford private fees) over here. I know there are plenty of arguments of why there should not be a two tier state education, but the comprehensive model has completely failed.
