"A patch will be coming for this issue that will load all of the required textures into video memory on level load, rather than doing it during game play."
Surely this would have been noted during Beta testing, unless they were testing on all high end machines ?
With the amount of detail and textures that need to be loaded, and locations changing - it would be hard for the game to cache the data AND process what you are doing while going towards the new areas
some things have to be sacrificed to make way for others, in this case - graphics > load time
"I've spoken with several sources here on the show floor from motherboard and enclosure makers who have all said the same thing: the BTX form factor is a non-starter on AMD systems. The problem seems to be the relative CPU and DIMM placement; the standard requires placement of DIMM sockets too far from the processor. With the Athlon 64's integrated memory controller, following the BTX spec becomes very difficult. Of course, BTX is Intel's spec, but it is also a proposed industry standard. Motherboard and enclosure makers are worrying out loud about the inventory control and design problems that may be caused by the extended coexistence of the ATX and BTX standards."
if it doesnt include spyware, they are one step ahead of Google in that department
but online - they can't catch up, google have secured themselves the #1 position in the last few years - unless it was a groundbreaking type of search technology, another generic search engine boasting "more relevant results" wont bring the masses
as much as i want to see one in action, the next james bond film comes out next year - i'm sure we will see it being used in all kind of great situations there.
What did you expect, if a game sells exceedingly well and is popular with millions - whats the point on risking money and time on creating a new game, when there is guaranteed finance in creating a sequel.

its called evolution, if all the companies compete to make the best product, it brings down prices and new technology is developed
its a win-win situation for the consumer, i welcome it.
posting a picture of a fully preloaded copy would be the same, that wont help due to steam locking it until the release date.
