Oh get off the grass. Almost every player EXCEPT the iPod uses the infinitely simpler method of drag & drop from the filesystem to put files onto it. No screwing around with a proprietary piece of software with all its quirks, just drag the mp3 from the filesystem, onto the device. Simple. It works without needing extra software installed whether you're on Linux, Windows, even another Mac. It doesn't GET any simpler than that, and that's what we already have for the majority of non-iPod players.
Just try to tell my wife that dragging an mp3 from the filesystem onto the device is easier than plugging in an iPod and letting iTunes automatically sync it.
Well shame on NASA for not consulting/. before deciding to put their launch complex in Florida. Those silly morons. I'm sure there is no real good reason to launch from Florida anyway.
You mean you don't need oxygen free copper wrapped in a clear coating with pretty plasic on the ends to pass a digital signal? That sounds like videophile blasphemy.
My 6 year old boy could use our TiVo before he could read. The only thing he was not able to do before he learned to read was set up season passes. I never showed him how to do anything with it because it's just so easy to use.
Plus, the simple fact is, Sony has never successfully launched a media format. BetaMax, MiniDisc, SuperAudio, UMD, MediaStick, and now BR-DVD you name it, if Sony had a hand it its development, it failed, most of the times miserably.
I don't know this one worded out pretty good for them...granted Phillips had a part too.
Right, since your Uncle probably does not even have an HDTV you will have to explain to him what 1080i, HDMI/DVI, componant video is. And then try to convince him that he is not watching football in HD on his 60" 4:3 TV just because the announcers keep saying it and that the letterbox show he watched last night was not in HD.
My prized possession as a child was my Lego kit that was supposed to be assembled into a car. It had rack and pinion steering, and three speed manual transmission, and an engine with square pistons. I learned a lot about mechanical things because of that kit. When I was tired of using the kit as it was intended I would make helicopters, mockups of landing gear, and all sorts of mechanical things with the gears.
This Christmas my 7 year old son received a Lego "Spiderman" kit. It consisted of parts needed to make a bridge and a cable car. There were not enough parts to make anything else of real use. I don't think the new kits provide enough to spark the imagination into making anything else.
Most of the meetings I have attended revolve around the same subjects every time. There are all of these "important" issues that must be addressed but the only time anyone thinks about them is during the meeting. After everyone talks for an hour about all of the things they are not really going to do and every topic on the agenda has been hashed over for the third time, it is customary to ask everyone in the room if they have anything else to add before adjourning. This is when the sourest, grumpiest person who has not said a word during the entire meeting will pull out a laundry list of nonsense gripes and complaints and will filibuster the meeting for another half our or so.
A "digital" singnal is no different than an analog signal as far as distance is concerned. Many stations are not broadcasting their DTV signal at full power yet so fringe areas may not recieve the signal as clearly as they will when they go full power.
I thought this article would be full of comments about how crapy SD signals look on a 42" plasma. Instead we are debating about feeding apples to school kids and budget cuts.
This makes perfect sense. Sometimes, when I put my Tin Foil Hat on, I can actually hear the sloshing. I hope the moon dampens this out before my lifetime is over so that I can actually hear them come back.
I think TFA is talking mostly about guitar tab and music scores...not necessarily lyric sites. There are scores of guitar tab sites that have thousands of tabs for just about every song you can think of. There are also books published with the same info only they are "supposed" to be accurate. The problem is that many tabs on these sites are for songs that have no "legal" books in print.
Perhaps Sony created this heavy handed EULA knowing they would get sued with the hope that some of these points will be ruled as "fair" by a judge. I'm sure that they would like to "win" even just a couple of those.
I just checked the bottom of some of our floor tiles and they are full of zinc whiskers. I'm going to tell my boss we need to replace all the floor tiles right away. I'm sure he will understand.

This must explain the high price of copper.
Is it just me or is Zune a terrible name? About as stupid as live.com is for a search engine.

It is rare for any aircraft to have everything working at the same time.

I think that Best Buy cable is going to be more like $149
Come on, don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel about it.

I thought Slashdot *was* a dedicated Microsoft section.
I knew they were doomed when they started running commercials with Howie Long and Teri Hatcher.
All you V1sta n00bs are going to be pnwed by my l33t skilz.

Didn't you hear, IE and the OS cannot work without each other.

Not to mention Blu-Ray is from the same maker as the PS2 and PS3.

Perhaps the missing albums/artist belong to a label that does not allow it's content on iTMS as of yet.
