As odd as it is to be taking this side of the argument...
I've been running the XP x64 beta on my Athlon64 gaming machine that I build last January. In the year that I've had it installed, the only piece of hardware that I own that hasn't worked flawlessly is my Saitek force-feedback steering wheel (the ff didn't work, you could still drive with it).
And as for security... it's Windows, what do you expect?

Simply re-arrange all the letters on your current keyboard into random positions. I did it about a year ago, since I can touch type anyway. When someone else sits at my computer, the confusion that ensues is very satisfying.

When i'm a foot away from an enemy, my first instinct is to whip out my crowbar and start smacking him in the face. but wait... they don't give you a crowbar! arrrgh.

Workaholics, Chronic overeaters, people who play Everquest... you can get addicted to anything. The question is, does the withdrawl kill you? You might miss doing it, but stoping (by choice, or by force) isn't going to send you into shock, like from heroin or barbituates.
You possibly could get away with 2 video cards. Most of the ones i've bought recently have a VGA and a DVI port... get a dvi to vga converter (or vice versa) and set them up as different displays. You might even be able to use svideo, letting you use just one card, but the quality isn't that great.
Sometimes the only way you can know the truth is by confronting it. And that is what "W" did. And when you find out your wife was not sleeping with someone else but you are already divorced and NOW she is. It is too late to go back and say "Honey, I didn't mean it."

Can it really be called a trend, with only one company? Seems a bit early to be plugging oss as the ONLY alternative. I doubt many people will be using 'Spyware Eliminator' much in the future, once more people find out about this.
I found it amusing that in your list of 'political issues' you mentioned Iraq and Homeland Security, but didn't include Osama bin Laden or Afganistan. It's interesting how they seem to be drifting out of the public eye recently...

Which is why I'm buying two of them, and taking advantage of SLI. I'll upgrading my mobo this month anyway, and PCI-E is on my list... Since the 6600GTs performance is at least comparable to the 6800 based on that review, getting two of them for the price of one 6800 seems a decent deal to me.
...what benchmarks are for? If anything, Microsoft should come up with some universal benchmark suite that compares your results with some average yearly values and gives you a rating. Of course, it would only work in windows, and suggest that you upgrade to the latest version at every opportunity... in order to maximize "performance" (profit)
