Jake: Hey, what's going on?
Officer: Ah, those bums won their courtcase so they're marching today.
Jake: What bums?
Officer: The fucking nanotech hippies.
Elwood: Illinois nanotech hippies...
Jake: I hate Illinios nanotech hippies.
Exactly... I was speaking of the franchise. I don't feel that TOS was a franchise as it was cancelled in less than 3 years. It was a failure initially. Only after it went into re-run nirvana did it become pop culture which then in turn became the franchise that we know of it today.
Now don't get me wrong here. I love TOS and without it we wouldn't be where we are today. I'm just speaking about the last 20 years or so... geez... it's actually almost been that long! WOW!
I must say, since the first mission at Farpoint station (TNG) to this upcoming final episode, it has been a great run for the franchise. It will be missed.
All good things...
Oh well... what do you think is going to happen to Boomer now that she popped some caps in Cmdr. Adama?!?!:-)
Are you going to tell me, unlike Opportunity's or Sprit's landing sites, that at the Martian poles there's no wind? I find it hard to beleive that the parachute and blast zones are still visible.
If the Martian poles are anything like Earth's, there should've been gale force winds there at one point in time within the last 5 years to blow this away. I mean it's a parachute!!! How could it not have moved?
How about the blast zones? It's dust! (possibly melted to glass) Why aren't there dust devil's here like at the other LZ's? Any kind or wind?!?!
To me it still doesn't look like NASA knows what it's looking for!
This thing has been out for a month and so what.... it's powered over PoE. What are you going to do with 12 watts? Have you see this thing? It's not even practical for home use
Now when they can get a min of 250 watts...Then I'll be impressed. The IEEE is constantly working on new standards and I really do see PoE taking off huge, but really.... this is a joke. This PC is just a neat gadget that some guys going to have a trade show.
You ever take a look at some of those CA's? AOL is a trusted CA. I don't trust them as far as I can throw them. What about Equifax? They have the ability to make or break each and every one of our credit histories. Should I trust them because they have me by the cajones?
Also, do you think it's fair that Versign can get away with charging $500 to $1000 for a 1 year cert? I think most of the people here know's what it takes to sign a cert. It's nothing! Why there's a charge like that I don't know, but yet we give into them because "they're trusted".
I think this is a welcome endeavor and am glad to see the initiative.
Linux might have more security holes within the release times but I feel the Linux patches are more proactive than reactive.
When Microsoft releases a patch it's usually because thousands of users have already been complaining about something and they have to address it in a reactive mode. In Linux, someone makes a discovery of a security flaw, contact's the vendor, and it's usually patched within a couple of days. Note that within that discovery, everyone is still happy as a clam because there haven't been 50,000 trojan's trying to exploit it.
Yeah.... and don't go after the criminals.... go after the stores who sell the criminals guns.... no wait.... go after the gun companies that distribute the guns to the stores.... no wait.... go after the mining facilities that mine the ore to make the metal to make the machines to produce the guns to distribute to the stores who sell the guns to the criminals.
Same logic here. Where does it stop? They'd find a way for funding. Obviously, they're getting a reutrn on their investement so there has to be some money coming in from somewhere.
I wonder how fast this CIO is going to be on his butt.

A quote from the Xandros website...Get full-featured Xandros for a fraction of the cost of Windows XP.
At $129 dollars per license...that's one helluva fraction!!!
Save your money! Use your fav linux distro and buy Crossover Pro for $75 bucks if you need that functionallity!
Now they can rename IE 7 to the Vista Crusier!
Any flashbacks yet?
...ready to install just by running "yum install foo."
:-)
If that's all I have to do, then why am I getting the error "Package 'foo' not found"?
