I got really lucky...I used to mount the administrator's network drives and remove restrictions on the machine I was using...I would've been out the door SO fast in most other schools...the worst I got was a talking to for making message windows pop up on other user's computers, haha
They're just borrowing it, right? Anyhow, the biggest reason now to target windows (as I see it) is to plant further vulnerability (backdoors, etc), in order to make gathering information from the machine easier.
If I've interpreted it wrongly...then why not cause further damage to the machine if you get in, if discrediting Windows is the goal? Like, format the machine, or magnetize the drive heads or something?
Microsoft PHB: So, who really cares about this feature? Power users? Bleh, they're all hackers anyhow. Not worth fixing, easier to just pull the feature. NEXT QUESTION!
1. Is it something nifty the user may like?
a. yes: include it
b. no: Goto question 2
2. Is it something a developer could use to add something nifty the user may like (bonus if it's implemented outside of spec!)
a. yes: include it
b. no: include if it's out of spec
Under 1.0 doesn't necessarily mean beta...in many cases, it just means that the program hasn't had a re-write/major change yet... [x].x.x for BIG changes, x.[x].x for feature additions, x.x.[x] for bugfixes.
That's how the version system worked traditionally, anyhow.
It's not "dangerous" per se, except that hot components have a shorter lifetime. Most motherboards will shut off automatically at temperatures deemed "unsafe" (imminent heat-failure of components). I don't remember the statistics....but I'm sure you can find them.
Guitarbot
is an earlier robotic guitar, which I read about several years ago. Pretty nifty video...it's basically focused on being able to do everything a regular guitar could, as well as extending possibilities far beyond human capability.
And what happens to your soul when you sleep? My God's no idiot...dunno about yours...he'll keep your soul with your body if he knows you're coming back to life anyhow.
No, won't run on XP, at least not well. The codecs don't match up properly. Those should be updated in Long Windows Horn when it's released by MS in 2008. And good luck trying to get it to work with the flat screen! I've heard that the electrons spin the wrong way for Linux to run with a flat screen, especially in XP. You're going to need a converter for that, buddy!
You hate bush so much? So, get your significant other to shave! Stop being perverted in this obviously sciento-political debate!
www.tomshardware.com www.anandtech.com www.hexus.net www.pcworld.com www.techtree.com take your pick.

Oh, come now...I'm sure no one steals Windows...

No shit? We're falling behind?
Where have I heard this before...I'm guessing either this site, or one like it, about 2 years ago!
Oh, that's easy. What kind of geek would you be if the machine wasn't always on?

In the same universe that some slashdotter somewhere has a (girl/boy)friend/(husband/wife)/significant other
Microsoftian web logic:

*BSD and Linux both support multiproc SMP, and with a price of free....

So....could we get the Bayesian filter to play "Global nuclear war"??
I for one welcome our chess-playing nuke-hurling Bayesian overlords!
They don't mention that 34.8% of statistics are pulled out of the speaker's ass on the spot.

Yea, I hate it when they give me monkey bits....I'd much rather have a Reeses cup!
Oh, and after you figure out how to do that, it won't be much more work to turn my Pentium 3 into a high-end PowerPC processor...I can't wait!
1. Insert generic and superfluous statement regarding dislike of dupe'd articles
2. Make obvious reference to previous story
3. Welcome our newly mobile cockroach overlords
4. ????
5. Profit!
Hey! I'm as powerful than ever too! YOu'd seriously think someone could proofread this stuff...
And what happens to your soul when you sleep? My God's no idiot...dunno about yours...he'll keep your soul with your body if he knows you're coming back to life anyhow.
whoa, whoa, whoa! You can't do that with a belt!
I'd like to clarify, that Javascript is a scripting language, as it's name states. It isn't considered a true programming language in most respects.
....that everyone is asking now: For how many months?

Finally, a quick, easy way for me to print out flipbook animations of all my porn vids!
