Sorry Microsoft. I refuse to pay for another operating system. My next desktop will be built as before by hand and will have Linux. My current laptop has Win 7 but I have Fedora as well. As soon as Steam jumps to Fedora I have less reason to care. Any new laptops will be built by System 76 or some other linux based OEM. Really between smartphone and my Galaxy Tab I am good for now or netbook with Fedora as well
Well a while back I was deciding about trying out Longhorn when it is released for public beta testing, or otherwise.
I realize now that Microsoft is too big and lost within it's own corporate divisions.
I have SuSE 9.3 on the way to me, I'll convert back to Longhorn when they finally decide to get things working. Around 2007 - 2008 When your once again forced to a newer operating system due to the end of life and support policies.
We all know we need tin foil hats. But can't the large array of satelites and assorted useless space junk (Hubble and soon to be the ISS) be our tin foil hats as they get knocked out of orbit?
We all know solar flares can screw up satelites. They are simplely magnetic and radiation fields.
What do we do, send a monkey to spread tin foil between the satelites so we become a giant baked potato.
Well at least the person gets to get a college education through our prison system. Although what use is it when a company runs a background check or requires you to have use of a computer system.
At least they were lucky enough to let their employer know they will be required to give up logs for the user.
This is pretty much SuSE 10. They never released a 9.3 Just a 9.2
I hate to see the SuSE name be lost. I would think they would still put out SuSE Personal. SuSE Pro is now Novel Desktop.
SuSE was great before, now I think they are moving in a great direction. Novell needed something to compete with. This is Novell's saving point.
"You laugh at the so-called expertise of Best Buy's GeekSquad"
I used to work as a Technicain at a Best Buy store. True they hire anyone to fix computers. I am A+ certified. Did I get a pay increase for my knowledge and less risk of frying a computer? No.
I can see how you can laugh at some. Just not all. That comment hurt. Good thing I don't have that highly politicalized job anymore.
The last time I checked Mozilla's site has Firefox and Thunderbird on their main page with a link to the product/download page for each.
Version 1.01 in my opinion is far more stable than the 1.0 code. I thought the preview release was much better than the 1.0 code. I think a majority of these problems were in the rendering code of Gecko.
The Gecko code base has been greatly improved within the last months.
Mozilla, I give props for being so driven for their products.
Wow, I guess Mr. Gates and company must be biting their nails. 2000 has that certification yet XP, the best product with "advanced security technologies" has nothing.
Well I guess it means times have changed. Linux is a big player in the game now and Microsoft needs to realize this and stop denying. False statements hurt worse than the bitter truth of "your product isn't good enough". I rather trust a company and have something that works okay and secure than some company that hides facts and has a better product in some ways, just not security.
It is funny how someone came out with a report saying windows is more secure, but is that based off the experimental code or source and which distribution. Novell and SuSE have always taken security as a priority and it shows.
I liked enterprize at first. The timeline however has taken hit as well as the content on former shows questioned. It was made to make more money yes, however it lacked in a lot of original ideals. It was a show that crossed boundaries as well as ment for entertainment not profit.
I hope if there is a new show, they make some serious thought to who is producing and creating all the content.
I see homeland security extends into space upward exponentially. Notice the threat scale is color coded as well.
How is the Palermo Scale different from the Torino Scale? The Torino Scale is designed to communicate to the public the risk associated with a future Earth approach by an asteroid or comet.
Well if anything our missile defense system can shoot it away with other missiles and sattelites with laser beams attacted to their freaking solar panels.
Satellite Radio you pay a monthly fee and is free from the FCC's censoring.
My Cable Television is also paid per month. Is this not a subscription?
The only difference is satellite radio owns all the stations they provide. They control 100% of the content. Cable television is individully owned and operated. The cable providers can not control what is shown on a specific channel other than not providing it or block it from viewers during certain times.
I often wonder why is it such a big deal anymore. Society accepts a lot of behavior on television that is indecent. Indecent is an opinion of the viewer. If you don't like it, turn it off. I do.

I bet the shine will fade faster being a doorstop being kicked around than sitting on the shelf sucking up dust.
I hereby call the doorstop feature, the Sony Effect.
This is being posted as a notice to the farmville-addicted family and friends.
You Should Too!
All we need is to make a subway system a Giant MICROWAVE!!
If you haven't noticed, Microsoft pulled the shell after someone had an exploit for the beta.
Wow, I'm not sure if I want to read the article.
This is a great idea, but there will be catastrophic tidal waves.
The plus side: Kids love to surf.
Surf's up!

I completely love this already. Keep it up guys!
In Korea, only kills old people

I'm sorry but you seem to be the one exhibiting what one would describe as "asshole-like" behavior

However, UPN has decided to air both 'Terra Prime' and 'These Are The Voyages...' on the same day, Friday the 13th of May
I think they had this planed for a while
Well if the problem is with Microsoft Word not playing embedded files, dump it.
Microsoft took away support to another application. The only other alternative to it would be get rid of the conflict, Microsoft themselves.
Openoffice isn't going to kill budgets. Have another player installed. Switch and be done with it.
Quicktime plays fine in openoffice with a mpg format.

I won't sue but the RIAA will! :P
None other than claiming that they rock more now with G4. I agree G4 messed up Tech TV.
