I agree with you on Verizon's unwillingness to move to a more 'open' customizable media format. In some cases Verizon has let slip media downloads from hardware providers, namely Blackberry. The first thing I did after getting my company Blackberry was fire up the web browser and download a short mp3 clip I ripped (of my own collection, on my own web server) and set it to a ring tone.
great to see things like this available, I'd like my ps3 sitting at home doing this rather than my super-beef 500w water cooled pc chunking out folding packets all day.
My roommate has a subscription to Netflix we both share, only he pays for it. We both have WoW subscriptons, as you can imagine the movies we once had coming in at a steady stream has gone stagnant. Neither of us want to not play wow for 2-3 hours as of late. I wouldn't be suprised at this point if the movie industry started blaming gaming/WoW for lower ticket sales. Keep in mind I don't even want to go into the living room on the comfy couch to watch a movie, I sure as hell don't want to go to the movies in public (scary!).
I can't imagine why Sony would add the text "this is not a typo" underneath the below average local read speed unless they are planning to release the final PS3 public version with much higher read speeds. If you can program a game to run great with the low read barrier then wouldn't you expect it to run ever more efficiently with the gates wide open in a final/public ps3 release?

I don't know about you but I personally would not mind a few windmills in my view. I used to drive from wisoncins to illinois and I always liked going past the windmill farms. Kind of mixes up the scenery a bit and its for a good cause. Would I want to directly live below one? No.
I think the opinion of being to broad is built around very public failures of devices with too many features/capabilities that fail at doing ONE THING exceptionally well. I believe the PS3 as a gaming machine will be extremely well at that, and to the average consumer/gamer this is all they want primarily. Everything else is icing on the cake to me, I love extra features as long as they aren't compensating for a lackluster primary funtion.
Why does the industry need to explain a negative loss of half a percent? It seems like the only time you AREN'T hearing from the industry is if they are in the green. What a bunch of cry babies.
On your second point i have had this exact situation happen to me.
I was working closely around 3 CCIE's, which i will add i am not at that level for Cisco at all, typing away on the console next to them. I glanced over to see two of them motioning towards me. When i asked if i had broken something they were using they proclaimed 'i've never seen anyone write ACL's that fast.'. I just do it, and aparently alot faster than most people in that field. These guys are go-to-the-site types so they must have seen alot. It did have an air of machismo about it which was pretty strange fro me at the time.
Space laser operators reported an onslaught of Shark-based laser attack. More at ten.
How is this possible?! Diamond is the toughest metal known to man!
no... It's a feature!
I'm sure if I looked through my old gadgets box there's something nearing a 1 Pixel digital camera... it also takes 3.5" disks. $10,000 OBO
Because you and I are here , I know there are others elsewhere. They might not be on the interwebs (yet) but they are out there.
Can you run me through RFC?
that's not a sojourner, it's a SCHOONER!

All these worlds are yours except MARS.
attempt no landings there.
use them together.

what QA testing is for? Wouldn't you want to have mock hardware to run this through on all those weird changing date situations?
