/.ers seem to be ignoring the fact that there's an "ancient earthquake fault" (from the Guardian article) already there. The tower is just be reopening an old wound.
I think Google leaves something in the beta stage until they can figure out how to make money with it. Maybe I'm wrong, but the only thing I can think of that's not in beta is Adsense (other than search, obviously).
but it is geting harder and harder to find unabridged versions
And that's why I really loved all those Walmart 2-for-$1 classics a few years ago. (Do they still have 'em? I haven't seen them in a long time.) 50 cents would get you an entire work of classic literature, "complete and unabridged". I count a good dozen of them on my shelf right now.
Heck, while you're at it, you might as well just use dead-tree format. Hey that gives me an idea: Blank books with lined pages designed to facilitate low-readership blogging in a non-electronic manner.
Hey, I might as well patent that. With the USPTO as it is, I might just get away with it.:P
statues lying on the seabed that made the greatest impression on him. He returned to the surface, removed his helmet, and gabbled that he had found a heap of dead, naked women.
A computer AND pr0n? They need to check their spellings. This was most certainly a geek ship, not a Greek ship.
You bring up a point that I feel many people may be forgetting in all of the debates on this subject. It could very well be that there are differences between men and women, as you stated. Perhaps it is the different horomones, or maybe brain chemistry or something. (IANAD - I don't know for sure; just stating a possibility.)
Note that I'm not saying they're not equal - they are. They're just different. 5/5=6/6, but 5/5 is not the exact same as 6/6. (Perhaps a bad example, but hopefully the idea is conveyed.)
Where in Arkansas did you find that grade scale? I was in Arkansas through high school and never even HEARD of that grade scale anywhere. As far as I can remember, it's always been 0-59=F 60-69=D 70-79=C 80-89=B 90+=A
You have a point. (What? a /.er conceding a point!?!? ;)
Damned if you do, damned if you don't, in a way.
Federal and State governments shoud not compete with/undermine private industry.
Ah, but what about effective monopolies providing substandard services at ridiculous prices?
9. ???????
10. PROFIT!!! (No, really!)
If it was already on one foot, yes.

Why in the hell hasn't anyone found a chemical that promotes ozone expansion or reduces global warming?

Well, we all know how things turned out when Sharper Image tried something similar with the Ionic Breeze...

Thus is the sort of thing we tend to find on Digg...a week ago!
Seriously. Old news.
Yeah? Well, I used a bookmark you insensitive clod!

I prefer Cliffs Rest myself, particularly late at night.
I can't believe I understood it.
Until I can shoot lasers out of my earlobes, no line has been crossed.
You can actually buy sticker sets for Rubik's Cubes. There's also painted cubes and the like if you try google.
Oh, well if they're using Norton, then we have nothing to worry about. ;)

Ah, but this is aimed at the folks on the racetrack. You don't want a Camry when racing.
