are actually going to buy any of this?
If anybody buys it, OSTG's going to ask/. to post more ads.
Imagine, spam and other uninteresting posts on/.! Never!
If I was stupid enough to do SEO type things, I'd add some code in:
if ($ENV{'AGENT'} =~ "GoogleBot") { print $asbestos_code; }
AGENT is not the right variable, I'm aware, it's because I'm too lazy to look it up.

If someone as low as a spammer can configure sendmail securely and properly, they wouldn't go as low as sending spam. Except the few people who are successful enough to do better in spam than a real job(if you'd call slave work in a carpeted cubicle a real job).
I'm stuck in WinXP and some reason it can't handle 256MB of RAM or something, so it crashes all the time.
I get about the last second of audio playing and repeating. It gets annoying quickly.
I open my browser, and see the Google page up and running. I started with Yahoo, I tried meta search engines, altavista, a9, and many others, but I never change my home page to be the other ones. I know Google, I know how to use the results and to view pages all in HTML and to get the cache and to search sites that link to me, or search a specific site. It's easy in the other sites, but I already figured Google out. Google works for me, when I find the wrong thing, I just add "-wrongword" to the end and I find what I need. I see all the blogs and misindexed pages, but I've never really suffered from Google Bombing or any of the other problems that are mentioned.
a video..and a picture.
If only the page is linked, people will hesitate to really get into all the links on the page. But a direct link to a quick to look at image? I'll see it tomorrow.
Wouldn't it be funny if Gate's had it in his will to destroy the company so that Windows would stop after his death? He'd have the money already, he wouldn't have to deal with the mess, and people would appreciate him after his death.
I'm sorry, I click on the links, but only from a proxy, with Javascript, images, and referer URL disabled. I figure that if all of us do that, it would be a legal usage of their bandwidth without some screensaver to help out. I just hope that the e-mailer is the same as the site owner, so that no money is gained.
A few years ago, my father received a cellphone call with a caller ID of "ER". Thinking the E could mean "Emergency", he answered the call. That call was a telemarketer. He got a contact number for the company and complained later from a landline. He ended up getting them to pay him the 70 cents or so for the minutes that they led him to using.
It's really great news for the mission especially after the wind measurement tool didn't function properly at first. 15 more years, and there'll be a space craft at this moon.
I've always found the problem of photo editing to be editing colors in bulk. The magic wand is great until you have a light blue background and dark blue letters, and selecting the background selects edges of the letters.
What I think would be nice is a way to specify the accuracy of the magic wand. Also, maybe I'm missing a feature, but I'd love to change all blue colors in the photo to the same shading, except in red, for example.
and probably the only reason Google has a simple home page is the same reason it started that way, the authors didn't know how to do HTML. Just be glad we have the Google Search button, that wasn't there at first, 'Enter' was the only way to search.
I kept a blog for a while that used some Google API to get some statistics. I never found a need for anything near accuracy in the results. I think the results that API bring, won't require a preference of one search engine versus another. If Google API is already being used, unless there are needed features, not many people will probably switch over.
I don't know the source of the information for it, but http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/02/19/202024 8 says the average salary of a Google employee is $60,000.
And, I know that personally, I'd sacrifice the higher salary in exchange for the honor of working for Google, but I'd never want to leave the place, so I'd never have the need to put it down on a resume.

SCO won the court case against some person who apparently owns Linux.
and here's a new post! How many people are sending in jokes, there's no way editors could come up with garbage so fast!
A non-joke post...and in ESZT there's still over 6 hours left to suffer from fake news, but this one helped save the day.
This is slashdot what girl would settle for less than $2200/hr to undress for a /.er?

but the last image in the gallery. /.'ed right before I could load the last one. Almost like a wall, so sudden, so sad.

why don't you just find a list of how to say "Yes!!!" in a bunch of languages? http://www.elite.net/~runner/jennifers/yes.htm

Yahoo was also linked, maybe you should have posted that cache...
What he's trying to say is, he's finally admitting his software is very similar to a trojan...
