    melbourne, which is a very large indoor/outdoor place they use geothermal heating to heat the place, you walk over large grates with heated air gently blowing out of them, it's the most well heated outdoorish area ive ever visited...

    firstly, how does a company prove that the EULA was agreed to? i'm sure you could demonstrate ways of detecting this filthy program without having to install it... therfore you can't assume the EULA was even agreed to, and thats IF the EULA can even be considered legal tender in this case, im sure you can make an argument that it goes beyond legal limitations by attempting to control the way other programs function...

    we've had it in many places around Australia too for quite some time, if you want information about adsl2+ visit www.whirlpool.net.au there are plenty of real life testomonies (in english, ok aussie english) and data about the real life speeds, quality and distances people are getting ADSL2/2+ at. (i think it's been around for a little over a year now commercially)

    often i have run out of the bathroom in a towl to pick up the phone and be put on hold by an automated voice, they then play some elevator music, and an operator picks up.... as soon as i hear the music now i give the phone a good slam...

    nowdays their actually training those ofshore telemarketers to sound Australian (i assume to sound American when they call America and to sound english etc) of coarse this strange aussie accent and odd tendency to bring up strange topics such as the weather and Australia specific issues can be quite hilarious :)

    when it says a third reported purchasing products or services online compared to 2%, is that a third of internet users? or a third of people surveyed? 2% just happens to be almost a third of 7% i noticed.... probably irrelevant though...

    of coarse this sort of thing needs stringent regulation (what doesn't?) i dont know what health care is like in the U.S. but here in Australia-land if anything in health care goes wrong, heads do roll...

    as with any new technology, we have to weigh good points and bad, good ones being things like: saving lives, and bad ones like your example: without strict controls the possibility of questionable ethics perhaps fuelled by greed/money... nothing is ever black and white, which is why we're blessed with a somewhat useful brain... :)

    the $199 model uses flash chips from toshiba (2* 1gb) whereas the $249 model uses flash from samsung (2* 2gb)

    Let's see how long the US holds together without the monetary support of the rest of the world. If countries like China were to just stop buying your government debt (let alone trying to get rid of it) then you won't even be able to pay for your mighty military.
