"People in space has been and always will be a dumb idea."
You say that now, but when good ol' Sol ages to a red giant you'll be singing a different tune!
I suppose part of my beef is part of the space flight industry's history.
Space flight is very costly, and starting up a company for this would be astronomical (hyuck hyuck). Some of the reasons the cost is so high is because it's hard to get investors due to the high risk. (Kill one crew, just one, and you're likely to go under in a week). The other reasons are because the current technology is extremely expensive. Government programs tend to get a bit bloated on the cost and as such anyone entering would initially need government size funds to draw from.
Had there been contests for cheap spaceflight options (like the one that was won a few months back but I am an idiot and the name escapes me.) Had these kinds of projects been done in tandem to the governmnetal developement, I think we'd be looking at a whole different view of space travel. I think ultimately the quickest way to get to the stars is the cooperation and parrallel evolution of the government and private sectors in the field.
I find it odd that Russia is at the forefront of commercial space travel. I mean they are capable of it, but I somehow thought that by now a public company could have pulled it off already. NASA f'ing up space travel with it's politics and disillusioning some about it likely has not helped.
Because when I buy a game at full price, and then pay the full price monthly fee. I can tell that am I getting the best discount for being used as marketing research. Oh and I love ads too, just wanted to add.
AHHHHHHHHHH!!! This wasn't part of any cycle I was told about! My god! My day is ruined! Thank god Microsoft will be consistent. My life can get back to normal in a couple weeks.
Basically this comes down to the moral idea of whether or not iit's ok to do things to those guilty of crimes (or other unacceptable actsl ike spamming) that would not be ok to do to an innocent person or entity.
So, do we cut off the hands of thieves?
As a side note, the idea of internet vigilantism is a rather interesting topic, and one that as the internet continues to expand could become inevitable.
I think the purpose of the article is to show that with the very little info that was leaked on the CIA agent, that it is very easy to use it to identify them. I believe one of the defense's Karl Rove and his people have been trying to use is, "We didn't give out THAT much, we didn't spell out the name or anything." When in fact the article proves that any leak, however small is too dangerous to risk.
I kinda worry I just completely stated the obvious.
Somehow I feel that the US government will not be happy until we have "secured our borders" until the government is entirely isolated.
Not the country mind you, just the government. I often seem to feel that the US government would be ALOT happier without citizens to get in the way too.
How many of us stare at a laptop screen for hours on end? How many of us realize how bad that is after a few days straight of doing it? LCD screens may not have the refresh rate issues, but still this can't bode well for the children's vision. Although optomitrists will likely be excited.
I suspect that if this goes through it'll be a start to where the internet speads apart and out, someday entire seperate networks set up. Like "ChinaNet" instead of internet. I imagine the seediness of the internet could only go up... Not that I mind. =]
It'd be pretty damn hard to sell off 3-D graphics. I often wonder if ANYTHING was real in the most recent movies... the clothes... I dunno there was something a little off about them...
Already made, some kids from MIT made and performed it. It was so good that they were asked to perform it for one of the Star Wars conventions either coming shortly, or have just happened.
Why sleep with an eye open? It's not like you'll catch the guy planting the bomb in your bedroom. The honest truth is that the average person will have no oppourtunities to prevent an attack like this, it's up to our governements almost soley. The best you can do is take note and report really wierd suspicious behavior. Other than that sleep well, might be your last.
Yeah my sister was a serial killer. She'd lull friends and family over to the house and then dump them in the pool. They'd swim til they died. Then she invited the maid over, then the police, then the pizza boy. There was no end to her treachery. Funny little 11 year old she is.
All those little kids who play "The Sims" will all grow up to be responsible and productive parents. All we have to do is wait a little and all that good "all controlling game influence" will affect the world positivly. That or the real problem is people who learn life lessons FROM A VIDEO GAME! I'm sorry but I love shooting cops in GTA: San Andreas, but I have never thought that it was anything other than fake. Maybe parents should learn to actually raise their kids rather than let TV, Video Games, and Schools do the job for them.
Performing the primary job of a trailer, it looks cool. The visuals seem rather impressive actually. I suppose this might be worth checking out in the theatres. I know it can't BE the novel. The book being too amazing. But perhaps it can at the very least do an ok job of entertaining me for a while.
Sorry guys. My modified corn crop not only causes cancer in 90% of all people it also kinda crossbred with the native corn in most of the southwest... so... uh... Sorry Guys.
Since Linux is likely here to stay, regardless of current quality, where do you feel Linux will be in 20 years. Especially when compared to where you feel Microsoft's OS will be in 20 years.
Well sure, "Mr. Righteous" Yes, My Baby is bleeding. And sure I refuse to bandage her. But you know what, your baby is bleeding too so you can shut up, it's not that bad. Jerk.
Leading fast-food researchers say that fast food is better filling than health food. They advise schools to start taking contracts out with McDonalds.
These guys job is to research video games. They chose it as part of their career. Of course they will favor video games. Oh and I suppose not related is the fact that these professors will be the ones creating these "teaching games" and selling them first.

Rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic? Might be like the day or two before the actual sinking, but still just moving stuff around before the sink.
Heh, glad I wasn't the only one to think that. =]
... and all the broken hacks are now functional again.

Wasn't Halley Berry in this movie? I hope she wins! I have the faith! Hollywood always makes the end a surprise!
