Depends on your market. For example, Japan has had android devices (tablets included) with both radio and TV for sometime (albeit one-seg crap for tv, really lousy rez) .
Too bad the drivers for these tend to be proprietary.
Only mega-corp like Tsutaya are viable now, haven't seen a non-chain store in years. DVD by mail and streaming are getting more and more common, even (specially) for pr0n.
Ok... maybe it's like that only in Yokohama (sorta like the new Jersey of jp), but anyway...
It gives you insight, in, you know, raising kids (considering you do some parenting, anyway). It will not automatically give you a higher ground or morals, but it surely teaches you a few things.
In the upcomming months plenty of companies will start offering DLNA DMR devices (https://coherence.beebits.net/wiki/MediaRenderer). You can stream the music from your NAS directly to this devices, as long as you have the software (ushare, twonkymedia, windows 7 has it as 'Play To'). There are not many devices available as of now, but they will be in the next few months. DMR software: foobar2000 (need a plugin), rythmbox (needs a plugin)
Sort of like "No human has ever encountered a sane Pierson's Puppeteer"?
Then the experiment can find if crazy people can be stable enough to not kill the rest of the crew and still do whatever they need to do in mars.

I use twitter as a persistent IRC among a bunch of friends. It has less features, but higher mobility, less hassle. I don't see why should anybody be so upset about it.
So any device using this subset of UPnP A/V should work. DLNA 1.0 devices included. Check for the mark on your consumer electronics... or try to make the coherence plugin work -_-

Nah, that's just QA...
Japan has been doing this for years.
Well, in japan is not rare to give 6yo kids phones either...
> Now lets compare this to Linux: Where is the "find drivers" button?
Uh, at least from Ubuntu 10.04 that'll be the "Hardware Drivers" applet found under System->Administration->Hardware Drivers.
That explains the coffee...

They don't taste the same, but for a non-epicurean is good enough.
Nothing anyone has typed with their thumbs has ever been important.
Say that to the kidnapped japanese reporter who got to tweet his status/location on a phone a few days ago.

Of course they don't sell bears cans in vending machines... they are just too expensive.
Also, why bothering with vending machines?
