Seriously my computer seems to work fine on just sp1, why go through the hassle of upgrading when there is no obvious benefit. I reckon this is the thinking of a lot of people. Plus having tried computers with sp2, the sheer amount of notification bubbles it uses would drive me insane!
- Default, game independent 'gamer profiles' on Xbox 360 will include some extremely broad, optional settings which all games will check, including difficulty levels, Y-axis inversion setting, preferred car transmission type (automatic or manual), and a handful of other extremely common game settings. There is then a requirement that game, on its first boot, checks those optional settings, so if the player always uses FPSes with inverted controls, he will never have to reset it in individual game cases.
This is really useful and innovative. I don't know why they don't talk about it more!
I think its a bit early to start talking about the greatest generation, as gaming is a relatively new medium when compared to film, music and literature. Surely the greatest generation will come when gaming is seen as an equal to those?
AMD don't have an incompetent marketing department they just choose not to advertise much and save the money. And lets be honest, anyone who's going to buy a CPU will know enough about computers to know of AMD.
The only point of the basic package is so they can say "look we made the $299 price mark!" But without a hard drive, they've pretty much shot themselves in the foot. The proper console is $399, hard drive is not standard, so Sony must be laughing all the way to the bank. Which is a shame because I actually thought Microsoft were going to do something special
I doubt the majority of XBox gamers really care about MMORPGs in their current state. The monthly subscription on top of the Live subscription plus the actual cost of the game makes them largely inaccessable to casual gamers.
I tend to cut people some slack, because:
a) he/she might not speak english as a first language
b) english is not like a programming language, it is ambigious and was formed by the very things you complain about. For example, knight is now pronounced "night", but originally this was not the case.
I'm not so sure... The XBox was basically a PC, so easy to program for (from a PC perspective). The 360 on the otherhand will be a unique architecture so I see less people developing community software
Dr Cox:[to a teen who has stopped taking her epilepsy medication] If this continues, you will be dead. And I'm not talking about the "Oh my God, if I don't get invited to the prom, I'm going to die" type of dead- I'm talking dead dead. Is that clear enough for you? Because if it's not, I could of course text you on my Blackberry or my Blueberry or my Chuck Berry... although technically Chuck Berry is a blackberry... the point is you gotta stop wasing everyone's time and grow up. Is that clear to you sweetheart?
The whole show was so showy and americanised it made me want to be sick! I felt really sorry for the men from rare having to be interviewed by a complete tool
God, I'm such a geek! After reading that, all I thought was that you have a recursive list!
I want to say Nintendo but I don't know why....
I hear they also invented DRM and are holding back Duke Nukem Forever. Do I get sued now?

The company says the flexible lcd will "open up new possibilities for wearable displays or fashionable displays in the not-so-distant future"
Oh god, it'll be worse than the 80's!
Martin Fink tells it like it is:
The question is not why you should put Linux on the XBox, but why not?
"In the end, it seems the only real winner after a hybrid purchase is the environment." That damn environment gets all the breaks!
I heard they slaughtered some kittens, but keep it between you and me!
A plugin that changes XP into Tiger!

So you spend a fortune on this machine, expecting it to last 10 years and after a few years disk read errors rear their ugly head! Great!

This is like space age technology!
Can't believe you needed to use assembler for some parts of PS2 programming. Thats absolutely stupid especially for porting
