In the same vein (but totally against any mathematical logic), any company (including evil ones) that are associated with Open Source and/or Linux automatically become good.
Oracle == Evil Oracle * Linux == Good China == Evil China * OSS == Good
Obviously OOS and Linux are and absolute value functions.
Oracle == Evil Linux(Oracle) == Good China == Evil OSS(China) == Good
Oh I see what he did. He said "Congratulations", followed by "You are the target of blah blah blah." His sentences were vague at best and misleading at worse.
Or maybe I can. He said if you answered 'yes' to number one and 'no' to number two then you are screwed. The implication is that if you answer 'yes' to both then you are ok. Maybe he's wrong? *shrug*
Have you checked for patches for QuickTime in the last 2 weeks, or seen any kind of public advisory, like you normally do when Microsoft or just about any other large software maker releases a patch?
If you installed OSX with the default options, it checks for updates automatically once a week. So I guess most of Mac users are answering yes to your #2. Nothing to see here...
I agree with your comments. I think the best example of this is my recent purchase of a PS2. Let's look at some of the games I got. Devil May Cry 1, GTA: Vice City, Mortal Kombat : Deadly Alliance, GT3, 007:AUF, Ratchet and Clank 1. All of these have sequels, yet all of them are perfectly servicable for someone who enjoys the style/gameplay and has never played them. But wait one may say, GTA:SA has all kinds of improvements. I bought every one of those games for $10 or less, and most of their current incarnations are $50. I doubt that there is $40 worth of improvement in any one of them.
Lack of easy integration with her car stereo is a major hurdle in this area.
What about all the FM Transmitters that range from $20-100 depending on how many whiz bang features you want? And before you say that they don't work that well, I have tried several from the bottom to the top of the line and they all work well; in my car, in my home stereo, wherever. I really have to work hard to tell the difference between them and the direct connection to my car stereo.
Don't misunderstand me here, the iPod seems like a great piece of hardware with an excellent interface, probably the best in its class. [...snip...] I'm simply not going to risk being associated with that "corporate consumer whore" crowd.
Wow, so you don't want to buy something that you say is "probably the best in its class" because you are afraid of what other people might think?

Somebody should start a network that does no other programming than picking up and continuing the shows that FOX kills too soon with the same cast & writers. Just think what their line-up would be like.
Arrested Development
Tru Calling
Firefly
The TICK (both animated and live-action)
Greg The Bunny
Action
Wonderfalls
Titus
Andy Richter Controls the Universe
What? No love for "The Inside"? You put Tim Minear's other two shows in...
There was also a rumor that GS was prioritizing pre-orders based on how many extras were pre-ordered in addition to the console. Not sure if that was confirmed.
Sony and Microsoft gamers prefer realistic war games and MTV-style presentations. To each their own.
Though I am 95% certain this is not your intention, this struck me as me as very sarcastic and condescending. As one who is VERY excited about the PS3 I am niether interested in "realistic war games" nor have I ever liked MTV. To borrow a/. cliche... "you insensitive clod".:P
According to TFA, they already made a simple demo that is a port of Irritating Stick. Just at least scroll through the paragraph titles in the article next time, ok;)
Actually, according to TFA: "These were not real Revolution games (all the names for the demos are ours)-they were super-simple, graphically crude offerings designed solely to show off different aspects of how the controller can work." Not a port at all... Just at least RTFA next time, ok;)
While I agree that the idea that Vista will spur people to switch to linux is far fetched, after all they are geared toward completely different types of users, Vista has spurred me to switch to Mactel when the come out. Perhaps it will have the same effect on others?
As to Media Player and other comments - you can use any other (Real Networks, QuickTime, whatever) so if that's your choice, you can spend the minimum amount on OS use freebies for value-added features (Open Office, Clam AV, etc.).
Correction: you could use those alternatives if and only if Microsoft certifies them. Access to video and audio hardware is being isolated so that only Microsoft approved software can access them. All in the name of protecting IP, no doubt.
I thought these guys just announced their recommitment to Windoze gaming...
I think you are forgeting some of the big moves they are making for Windows gaming, like crippling OpenGL in Vista. I know I for one would have had hours more gaming fun if it wasn't for that damn OpenGL.
By the way, the political opposite of communism, is naziism. I think I'd MUCH rather be called a Commie.
What are you talking about? Maybe in the one dimensional worldview of politics, but I think few people think of it as a line anymore. Even if you are, Facism and Communisism are more alike then they are different. They both take away the rights of their people, just with a different excuse. There is a reason why they are both called Totalitarian governments.
PS Are you appealing to the Hitler defense with the "naziism" comment? If so perhaps I am wasting my time.

If they put in a tv tuner card, why would anyone buy TV Shows of iTunes?

Isn't Star Trek, "Star Trek - in a Movie format"?

We want to get started on a worldwide basis, we want to do the right thing for gamers, for our publishers and for consumers.
Anyone else find it odd that Mr. Allard separates the two and thus implies that they are not the same thing? Not a sermon, just a thought.

Too bad it borks the Live Comment Tree Script for Greasemonkey(http://www.allpeers.com/blog/?p=137). Seriously that is the best script ever...

Most of them were so dark I couldn't tell what was going on. Shader 3.0: so shady you can hardly see it!
They ported the Doom3 engine to the 360?

And English Fansubs here: http://divxstation.com/subtitle.asp?sId=46977. They work and make sense, but I've only watched the first 5 min, so don't shoot me if they suck.

The word you're looking for is "moot," not "mute."
Queue the obligatory "moo point"[sic] reference...
$3000 for a computer that will play this year's top-of-the-line games.
Ummm, a $1000 computer will play games just fine.
But why pay $1000 for a cutting-edge computer when you could get ripped off by Alienware for a mere $2000 more?

Frankly the game that excites me more is SW: Battlefront 2. I want to fly me some X-Wings on a portable.
