    There is no such thing as a level playing field. The game started thousands of years ago and it cannot be reset. The levelest we can get the field is to not let the refs call the plays in anyones favor. Government is big and stupid, I do not trust it to make correct decisions, therefore its decision making power should be limited. Individuals must do what they can to improve their own situation. Government's only job should be to stay out of the way and keep it from violence.

    If you are learning how to click menu items in Websphere, you are getting an IT degree, not a Computer Science degree.

    In theory you could teach a full computer science degree without even touching a computer. Computer Science is the theory behind computation, IT is the practical application of the work.

    I try to start my workday and finish my workday with some personal projects. Sometimes I have had employers who encouraged working on a fun project at work, sometimes I needed to work on something 'work-related', but generally it had to be fun. I would use these projects as a warm up and a cool down from the brunt of my work programming. I found that it would get my head into 'programming space' with something enjoyable, and at the end of the day, let me leave thinking about my fun work and not the hard slog of the day. Keeps your brain healthy!
