I thought that there was now a MySpace for Prisoners. Would have made for some good blogs...
"today i totally had a shiv to my head in the laundry room! it was just like that part in shawshank redemption! i LOL'd and sum totally came out my nose! it was so gross"
Play it, it's fun. Then you'll see why everyone here at Dotslash likes it.
Really though, I don't know why David Jaffe is the current Google in terms of Slashdot stories, but GoW sold a lot of copies, and it's a game people paid attention to. Yes, he's saying shit that's been said before, but the only difference is that because of his game's popularity, people are actually taking note (i.e., I've heard this all before, just not on Slashdot.)
But I agree with you. Saying and doing are two different things, and hopefully he'll follow his own advice for his next game.
I have played God of War, and while it was linear, it was still very much a "game". Learning new moves and stringing combos together was really fun for that genre, and being able to kill different enemies in different ways to get life or mana instead of experience was a nice touch. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I want to play it -- so I have to disagree with you, this game has fantastic gameplay. Have you played God of War?
And I find it funny that David Jaffe doesn't like cutscenes, when GoW's were some of the best I've ever seen. Aside from the quality of them, the story was great -- a man whose skin is white because it's covered in the ashes of his dead family? That shit is just good!
But even if Take Two crumbles into the ground, I doubt there's any stopping a next-gen GTA. Someone will get a hold of the franchise and the people who make it, whatever the cost.
WPA encryption was added to the PSP in Firmware v2.0. Why doesn't Nintendo offer downloadable firmware upgrades? I searched around for an answer, but this is all I found:
We have no plans for WPA at this time.
If your concerned about WEP, turn your computers are OFF after you've switch to WEP for the DS. I don't care if The Lone Gunmen are parked outside your door with a van full of equipment trying to bust in your computer files, they can't do it if your computers are off. And, yes, your wireless router will still work if your computer is off. Um, unless it's plugged into the same power strip and you power the whole strip off.
If that's not an option for you, you may want to get the Nintendo USB WiFi Connector, as it works ONLY with the Nintendo DS, and you can leave your other WiFi router with WPA.
NOTE: The reason the Nintendo DS is compatible with WEP, and not WPA, is that we found WEP to be the most prevalent standard for securing wi-fi connections.
"NOA_GREG" in the Nintendo Forums
And that's dated November 15, 2005. You can read more here. Basically, get a $35 DS Wifi USB key to share the connection, and leave your computer on all the time. Thanks, Nintendo.
But he's exaggerating the fact that there's a whole two Mario Kart games you can download. No one has ever opened a package of Twix and said, "Man, there's like 27 Twix in here!" Because there's only two.
"...in Shadow of the Colossus, the player stabs a beast not by pressing the attack button but rather by letting go of it..."
I don't remember that. IIRC, don't you press the button once to start the meter, then press the button again to stab? Can anyone verify that, or am I retarded?
Also from TFA:
"And maybe you'll be a little less desperate for the next iteration of Mario Kart, when you can download the twenty-seven previous ones for a few dollars..."
Aren't there only 5 iterations of Mario Kart? And you can't download GBA, DS, or GCN games, so that leaves you with 2.
I don't think he's too busy nowadays.
Please tell me Gummy Ships aren't in it this time.
PLEASE.
http://www.nintendowii.com/ was forwarding you to nintendo.com a couple days ago, and now it seems to do nothing, with no information in the whois lookup.

I'm sorry.
Someone in the chain of command didn't know when to call quits.
George Lucas works for 3D Realms?
Man, you live a busy life. Did Megan's chiropratic appointment go well?
(Or shall I say "chiropract" -- where's the word wrap?)
You're forgetting the next-gen pricing scheme: Current rip-off + $10.
You'd be right. That's why my comment was rated +5 Funn--wait, what the fuck?!
I'm sticking to my Nintendo DS.
Why, $60 games of course.

GTA:LCS must have not sold as well as expected, considering Take Two's bringing it to the PS2 by May.
But even if Take Two crumbles into the ground, I doubt there's any stopping a next-gen GTA. Someone will get a hold of the franchise and the people who make it, whatever the cost.
I believe someone has that planned, but they're still working on the "10-hour-long fight scene" mod.
Agreed. They used to be good.
They're basically saying that "Bloodrayne: The Game: The Movie: The Game" will be a launch title.
If this image is real, then this could end up being very fun. 10 player Tetris? Come on now.
Let's just hope they have a lobby or post-game chat feature, unlike another game of theirs.
Yeah, make a "Nordic" mouse and I'm in.

I was planning on making a necklace out of it so I can be cool like G-Unit.
This sounds like a great plot to a horror movie.
Mine is *******. Please don't log into my account and start posting lame, useless comments.
Shit! Too late!
