I am surprised there has been no mention of Nassim Taleb's book, The Black Swan in all the preceding comments here or in the TFA and it's user comments. I would highly recommend it for anyone pondering this topic.
I use a Logitech VX Nano mouse with my laptop. The precision is exceptional and the wireless range is ridiculously good (it uses 2.4Ghz). Battery life on 2 x AAA is decent also.
I picked up a VX Nano some time back for my laptop and it is awesome. Receiver is tiny, battery life is great and the range is phenomenal, I've tested it to around 15 metres.
Nearly 30% of fatal accidents involving large trucks at night TFA noted. (Reading TFA? Crazy I know) When I drive on highways and main arterial roads at night I notice a much higher proportion of trucks to cars than in the day time. I would think truck drivers, particularly those driving interstate, drive as much at night as they do in the day. They also didn't say what percentage of the fatalities were the fault of the truck drivers or other road users. Who is the finger being pointed at here?
I feel EQ offers much more differentiation in the tactical/strategic playstyle with its multitude of different classes than WoW does. Of course it has its own issues as well including diminishing player base and less than stellar content designs in some of the later expansions.
On the subject of coffee name in Australia asking for espresso will usually get you what you want but you should really ask for a "short black" to get a single shot espresso. When topped up with hot water the drink is denoted as a long black or if topped up with steamed milk, a flat white.
Yes I too once played Civ till 3am and thought that was extreme. Then one fateful day back in April this year I was introduced to Everquest and life has never been the same again. "The first hit is free" my friend said...
Nowadays I see the evil light of dawn break through the curtains before I am forced to retreat to my darkened bedchamber and wait the coming of night to return to Norrath.
Monks have known about this for years.

You can add Google's fscking paper plane icon they use as the send button in their Gmail app to that list. Fsckers.
Is it too obvious to mention that Nassim Nicholas Taleb wrote a book that explains why this should not be surprising news to anyone?
Apparently this whole situation started because a note from senior management was mistakenly written as shoot the moon instead of shoot for the moon.
Which party is Natalie Portman attending?

I'm waiting for a the video, narrated by Natalie Portman - naked and petrified, covered in the aforementioned hot grits.
Obligatory XKCD reference - http://xkcd.com/538/

I wave my private parts in your French press's general direction. Everyone knows the best non-espresso coffee is made with a vacuum pot.

The NetHack Dev team begs to differ.

By the good graces of comedian Ed Byrne we have an even more appropriate term - alanic.
