They act like the only way to own multiple consoles is to buy them both right when they come out. They will both eventually drop in price, so even if someone doesn't pick up both at launch, down the line they could quite possibly pick up the other.
Can anyone that's installed this tell me if IE7 will live with IE6 still on the machine? My main browser is Firefox, but I'm interested in trying this out. The only thing is, I hear that IE7 doesn't necesarily show IE6-based sites right, so I think I'll only try this if IE6 stays on my machine
They didn't even mention Donkey Konga/Donkey Konga 2 or Taiko Drum Master on their list. (OK, they're on the vote thing at the end, but not mentioned in the article!)
Anyway, as a drummer, I was drawn to the Donkey Konga games, and liked them as much as I expected. As for TDM, I've been wanting to get it, I'm still just waiting for the funds to be available for it:)
I seem to remember hearing that Burt Ward's bulge was too big and Adam West's wasn't big enough. I am, of course, referring to Robin and Batman, respectively, of the 60's Batman live-action show.
What he says is true, but note he says more of the negative is shown, not necessarily more of the movie. When some movies are filmed, they are intended to be widescreen, but they do in fact shoot 4:3 and then trim it to widescreen for release. So, while technically there is more image in the negative, the fact remains that the widescreen version is what the director wants you to see.
When a movie shot like this gets released on DVD as fullscreen, they actually show you the whole negative (tho I don't know if that's how it's always done, some may be left and right cropped) but sometimes you'll see things you aren't supposed to, like boom mics and such, because in the proper format, widescreen, they aren't seen. This is when a full screen release is referred to as Open Matte rather than Pan and Scan.
TFA - "If a part of an application, or the operating system itself, needs to updated, the Installer will call the Restart Manager, which looks to see if it can clear that part of the system so that it can be updated. If it can do that, it does, and that happens without a reboot," he said.
"If you have to reboot, then what happens is that the system, together with the applications, takes a snapshot of the state: the way things are on the screen at that very moment, and then it just updates and restarts the application, or in the case of an operating system update, it will bring the operating system back exactly where it was," Allchin said.
So it will try not to reboot, but if it has to, it will take a snapshot of the state and reboot the application/OS and bring it back up in the same state. The article does NOT say reboots will 100% go away.
"- Do not watch a movie based on a video game, ever. It is not worth watching. If you know someone who actually paid to watch one, slap him with a large trout for being such a sucker."
Of course, this, as all laws, have their exceptions. I personally enjoyed the Resident Evil films, and I never even played the games (could that be why, less bias against it?)
On the other hand, people may have said that about most comic book movies, especially Marvel at one time (cheap Captain America, Punisher...), now see Spider-man, X-men...
A couple of years ago, I had a Compaq that was giving me problems. I think it wasn't turning on, so I wanted to try to swap parts out to find they were proprietary (I was still somewhat new to the hardware side of things at the time.) Anyway, seeing as how I couldn't replace parts, somehow a mishap occured involving me, some friends, an axe, a pick axe, a sledge hammer, and some fire. See a pic of it at http://www.geocities.com/sunsetstrip/7745/burning_ compaq.jpg
Pardon my ignorance, but could someone tell me what Vista means and how Microsoft relates it to their new OS? NT was New Technology I believe, and that was fitting (well, when it was released anyway) and XP stood for experience (yea, it's some experience alright...) so what's the correlation this time?
"For less expensive keyboards I satisfied and content with ripping out the Microsoft menu keys"
You know, that Microsoft menu key can actually come in handy. WinKey + E brings up Explorer (not the my computer crap) WinKey+D takes you right to the desktop, WinKey+R brings up the Run dialog, not to mention just that WinKey by itself brings up the Start menu, which I don't use much, but it works good for a quick log out/shut down (WinKey,Up,Enter brings you to the shut down dialog)
Now, obviously you can't do that stuff in non-Windows, but on my Fedora Core machine, I use it for similar shortcuts (WinKey+F for file manager, etc...)
Finally, I can add stylish radio buttons and checkboxes to my sites!
Wait, I'm a geek, not a graphic designer. I don't care about the style, just as long as it works;)
Gail Simone, she did Agent X, a spin-off from Deadpool, and I belive she did Deadpool before that. She's also done Birds of Prey and some other stuff.
Great writer, with a great sense of humor in her stuff.

And it'll be on Blu-ray/HD-DVD media. And you'll play it with an AlphaGrip keyboard.

In Soviet Russia, rock'n'roll + webcam input + gesture recognition + musical interpretation + physical sound model = YOU
Duel Booting, that sounds like the answer. Let the OS's fight it out, winner takes all!

(Sorry, I just had to comment when I saw that typo
They always release the update on their servers, and wait a couple days to release it via the arrows. The do it to reduce load on their servers

Actually, the first thing that came to mind for me was Cyclops from X-men
Isn't the government already keylogging all of us anyway? (takes off tin foil hat) Oh wait, that's Canada. Never mind.
That's great, now if only someone could figure out how to circumvent getting Slashdotted.
In Soviet Russia, BitTorrent embeds Opera
but will my fingernail run Linux?
Finally, once I get Luke's Lightsaber, I'll have something to put fluorescent tubes filled with petrol on!!!

I believe that a patch update system will be implemented starting with Firefox 1.1
