The DS is doing pretty well, but that's because it's fairly different from a standard hand-held. But speaking generally, there isn't much you can do with a hand-held to make it really interesting. You can only boost the graphics and sound so much before they start eating batteries. There are limits to hand-held systems I guess. However, like I said, the DS does a good job because it's different (and somewhat unique) from other hand-held systems. It is like a Palm, but as a console, it's new.
I read the article, and the author doesn't sound completely biased. He gives the pros and cons of Open Office. He does a good job at describing the weaknesses and strengths. However, the article isn't in-depth; the author only touches on the surface of the program and doesn't give details. He also doesn't touch on features Open Office lacks which MS has, and visa-versa. He goes over a few features which Open Office has and can compare to when it comes to Word.
With the game story being so bizarre, it only means that the writers can get away with almost anything, and that just means the story can be interesting, as well as weird.
I was astonished when I saw the pictures. The pictures do look real, until you realize the repetition. Check out this image to get an idea of repetition. It looks real, but only if you look at half the image. Pretty nice still!
Most other companies aren't for senderID, at least yet (reading previous/. articles). If that's the case and I only end up getting email from other hotmail accounts only, then why would ANYONE want to stick around with them? My "junk mail" folder will turn into my inbox then.
Apparently the market LOVES bad spelling. If you check out http://www.blu-ray.com/ you can actually find a spot where they spell "Blu-ray" as "Blue-ray" (check under the headline titled "Jan 18, 2005 - Sonopress Joins Blu-ray Disc Association"). I think they're undecided on the name...
It's interesting work. It's a lot like this but the memory feature described in the article makes it very unique. I can't wait for the day I can plug my own personal electronic newspaper into some public outlet to get the newspaper. Better yet, getting this in schools will save a lot of children from back pains.
Videogame music is one of my favourite genres of music. Well at least I think it's a genre. Nobuo Uematsu is just one of the people that come to mind when I think of videogame music. It's just that videogame music comes with a lot of emotion. You remember playing a part of the game, something important happening, and the music that was playing during. It's more interactive that normal music. I don't think I'm the only one that thinks that way either, check out VGMusic.
Luckily Windows has tried to stop this from happening as much as possible by downloading the patches in the background, and then asking you to install, and bugging you to install until you do. What I'm actually waiting for is, seeing what NEW security problems these new security fixes make. This recent article in the games section comes to mind amongst other things.
At least they raised the required funds. Right now they have $6468 USD, and they were only asking for $3000 USD. Looks like they'll also be able to deal with the temporary server after it was slashdotted.
The music is only part of the fun. Watching the musician entertain is the rest. Interaction between the crowd and the musician is what is good about live music. I mean if I wanted to watch a robot play music, I'd turn on Winamp with a plugin and go crazy with that.
It's "no shit" to you and me... how many/. users do you know that run our school systems? Microsoft is expensive, but they're the only one in the spotlight. Being naive sucks doesn't it?
Exactly... it was done at the perfect time to show off his work to the world. I for one believed it for a few hours before I did my research. I only believed it because it seemed so realistic and authentic. He's really talented, and while he created a good fake, he's created a better even entry in his CV.
I can understand everything you said except for the last sentence. If you were a kid, and your parents saw you scripting/programming, I wouldn't think they'd know you were writing a virus of all things. Even if they did ask, would you answer them with "I'm writing a virus". If we are going to blame the kid, let's not get the parents involved who are most likely computer-illiterate.
66 percent said open-source operating systems have low initial costs, while 47.8 percent said the software has low operating costs
I'm curious what percentage said both initial costs and operating costs were low... I think putting companies into only one category leaves out a lot of information.
Kid's make mistakes, I don't think he should be thrown in jail and have his life ruined because of a childish (yes this is very childish of him) mistake.
However, he's taught a lot of people to take security more seriously. I think anyone would agree that because of this kid, a lot of systems are more secure.
Plus I don't think the "hacker mentality" works in cases like this. I don't think when he created and released this code he was thinking of what would happen. He was probably just curious, but not out to hurt anyone. This might have just been something "cool" to him. In any case, I don't think he should be thrown on the same level as say Karla Homolka. Take away his computer or restrict his computer privileges. Don't throw him in jail. He's not a murderer (refer to the google link provided).
I just want to start of by saying I don't think drug use is right.
1) Drugs are bad mmkay
Clearly state that illegal drugs are bad. I think Advil is a GREAT drug. Plus with governments around the world legalizing marijuana, who are you to say it's bad? Smoking cigarettes is no better than marijuana. Drinking is fairly bad also. If you drink or smoke, then you are also doing a pretty bad thing... mmkay.
2) marijuana leads to heroin
Who said this? Where did you read this? Please supply some links, because I think this is completely false.
3) pot is 30x stronger than in the 70s
Give me proof please.
4) Marijuana finances terrorism
Are you telling me that Al-Qaeda gets all of their money from marijuana sales? So that drug dealer down the street is actually an Al-Qaeda spy? Don't exaggerate the idea of marijuana sales to terrorism, or at least if you are, give some proof.
5) You will become schizophrenic
This is theory, and not proof. We have to wait for this to either be proved or disproved.
6) What kind of message would that send to the children
You and I both agree that buying the stuff is a pretty private act. You don't buy it in front of strangers or children (or at least I hope not). If you want to say what you just said, at least ask what kind of message are governments sending to children by legalizing marijuana. THAT'S a much more public act than someone buying drugs off the streets.
There's this game, which is for PC called Maple Story. Every girl I know is playing this right now, and enjoying it. It's a traditional RPG, but a sidescroller where you walk around and beat up cute little monsters for experience points. You can become a magician, a warrior, a thief, or a bowman to begin with. It's very cute, and addictive.
Another big one is Gunbound, in which you pick a little robot, and use angles, force, and wind to shoot other little robots down. Pretty childish and "cute" also.
Both are online games which came out of Korean based companies.
You're right... from episode 1 up to episode 26, this anime is all gore, religious themes, and sexuality.
On top of that there is a good ending, and a bad ending. The good ending itself is pretty scary, while the bad ending is just disturbing. If they're going to edit this, they'll have to edit out the ending, and the middle... and the beginning. With each episode being 25 minutes of which 10 minutes of each episode not involving gore, religion, or sexual content there will be a ton of commercials to fill the gap.
Therefore the only way they could show this is with MAJOR editing or different translations to pretty up the language. In any case when they do show it the ending will be nothing like the original which will sort of ruin the entire thing. It's a great anime, one of my first and favourites.
Just hearing about Master of Magic brings back so many memories. That would be an awesome game to have on a hand-held like DS...

Anything that can shred a BOAT and a REFRIGERATOR is my new best friend ^^. The clips on that site are awesome :)

An foreign gaming site won't help him with his spyware problems. Try http://fedora.redhat.com/ for the real deal.
So now instead of taking your wallet, a thief will try to cut your finger off... the data is a little more secure, but your finger definitely isn't.

...So you suspect there is more than one also!! I think there'll be one for every continent, I'm so scared.
Maybe it was released there first to test the market? In any case: August 22.
