gs.com is the website of Goldman Sachs. Cantor Fitzerald is an investment company whose offices were in the World Trade Center. I find it pretty interesting that some of the first signs that something was wrong were occurring just a few seconds after a plane hit the WTC. It reminds me of an interesting short story (by Cory Doctorow?) about a group of sysadmins trying to keep the internet running despite global calamities.
Sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but are you saying that you have the ability to hear artifacts from the sampling rate? 44,100hz (a typical sample rate) is quite a few gaps per second!
You may be interested in this- http://www.3dnemo.com/031_G_to_U.html It's for unity, the other engine recently made free. The bummer is that it's kind of a PITA for a large area, but it's still doable.
Sorry if I'm being dense, but why not buy Snow Leopard by itself? ($29)
Even if you don't want to break the terms of the license (the $29 disk is supposed to be an upgrade disk for those who already have Leopard, but it works off of the honor system), you can buy it legitimately in the mac box set (something like $150, but it still comes with some other software). Either way, you still come in way under that $545 figure. Moreover, each OSX release isn't like an expansion pack- they are standalone; you don't need to go back and buy every release from the last 9 years. I'm not sure where the competitive aspect comes in- I'll assume you're referring to people switching to macs from something else. If so, the computer they get will come with Snow Leopard anyways. No upgrading to OSXEXTREMEPROULTIMATE version. The only possible cost would be future upgrades (optional, obviously) or the server version of the OS, which I doubt most end-users want/need. If you're referring to Hackintoshes, Apple doesn't really want to compete in that market, since they make most of their money off of selling hardware.
While XBL is fine for gaming, buying stuff with "Microsoft Points" is odd, unlike Nintendo Points or buying gift cards with Sony, theres no easy way I can find out what everything costs in US dollars. Etc.
Microsoft points are annoying, but all you have to do is divide the points value by 80 to get the dollars so it's not too difficult
Enter the command "defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES" (without the quotes) into the terminal, and then type "killall Dock" or restart the Dock in Activity Moniter. Voila! No more Dashboard.
Warden is only barely implemented in the Mac version of World of Warcraft. On the other hand, I remember there being an issue with Warden giving false positives, which led to some Linux users running World of Warcraft in WINE a few years ago getting banned.
Just type/played, write down your overall time, and in another week see how many more hours/days of playtime you have. There might be a mod that does this for you, but I haven't been able to find one.
A USB keyboard isn't that useful for almost all games*, but Microsoft does allow you to use a keyboard- they even sell a little miniature keyboard that plugs into the controller.
*But it really comes in handy when you're setting up accounts, entering account info at a friends, etc.
Well, just about everyone who has been playing World of Warcraft or similar MMOs with a monthly fee for a few years has paid hundreds already, just not all at once.
Given a choice between creating an representative cross-section of America and an representative cross-section of their customer base, game makers are likely going to go with the people who are paying them money.
And how many of their customers have extremely well build muscle, ideally tanned skin tone, and over-sized boobs?
I don't know about the first few criteria, but for the last one? Most of the male ones
Obviously, it takes large amounts of time and money to stick in all those extra "u"s like in honor and color and turn the z's in colonize and disembowel-ize into s's.
The conspiracy theorists won't have too much time to try and explain away the photos because of their resolution; according to the article the LRO isn't in it's final orbit yet so "Future LROC images from these sites will have two to three times greater resolution."
There's a similar program for windows. I forgot the name, but it was talked about on slashdot a handful of months ago. You scan an object in front of your webcam and use it as a controller for games and even programs already on your computer i.e. using a pen as a joystick to zoom around in Google Earth. I think it had the word "cam" somewhere in it's name.
Moreover, she shouldn't believe that her parents are infallible either. Google is a mispelling of Googol, which is actually just 1x10^100. If you'd like, you can Google it:)

If you think we know everything about what happened at 9/11 you're just gullable...
You think I'm gullable?!!?!?
I'd bet you're so gullible , you think gullable is in the dictionary!

I think you mean "whip out"

Of course not silly, you would speak Latin to a Latin American.
I believe more recentish version of VMWare can virtualize Mac OSX
I bought all of my HDMI cables for $7 or less (off of newegg), so they're a bit less than 5% of $149.99.

Funny doesn't count for karma. Otherwise, I would have made a joke instead of informing you of this.

Why have real, qualified therapists when you can just use your friendly, neighborhood implementation of ELIZA to drive WoW players crazy?

Hmmm that was easier to find than I thought. It's called camspace. http://hardware.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/06/16/1326238 and http://www.camspace.com/ are the relevant links. Apparently a mac version is in the works as well.
