  3. Just switched to sprint on Sprint May Have Unlimited Data Plans, But Not Unlimited Customers · · Score: 1

I've just switched from Verizon to Sprint, mainly because of Verizon's changes to data plans which they are forcing current users into. There is little point in sticking around and paying $240+ a month for 3 smart phones and 8 to 10GB of data w/ Verizon. Sprint is $180 a month for 3 smart phones w/ unlimited data. Verizon may be faster but w/ caps so low that's pointless. I can't help but fell that the caps are that low to force you into overages. Sprint is slated to roll out 4G in my area by Q3 2013, i'm guessing when that happens Sprint will be the better deal by far.

  6. Try Tablets instead on Ask Slashdot: Best Linux Game For Young Kids? · · Score: 1

My soon to be 3 year old nephew can add and remove icons on my mom's phone better than she can, she can't figure out how to change the wallpaper and he'll change it to a different picture of him self every time he gets the phone. If i hold him while in front of my computer he'll poke at links in chrome by touching my monitor and look at me like why isn't this working. The Leappad 2 is great, $100 upfront then around $20 or so for the games, not a bad deal. However, kids learn different ways and while some can use keyboard and mouse, or console controller early on, others can not. The best thing to do is let them explore on their own, within reason of course.

This question was asked before as I recall. I currently use the Netgear WNDR3700 router w/ Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/14/11) std. It's been pretty solid for me. It's dual band(2.4 and 5.0 Ghz) so you can use your current bridges just fine. As far as USB adapters go, I got a few WUSB600N refurbished for around $30 each, though I haven't any issues w/ any of them at all. For laptop upgrades I very much like the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230.

I've posted this else where today, might as well post it here. People are up in arms over this one, most people seem to think that they are safe and/or anonymous behind their chosen internet handle. However this is not the case. As a TF2 server Admin I have seen many trolls get blown away when their personal info is posted in response to their trolling posts. Just by Googling the Handle some people use, you can start to gather pieces of personal information, email, phone numbers, real names, places, jobs, etc can be found in a matter of minutes, one piece of information leading to another, which leads to another, and so on until you have a complete picture of someone. You are not now nor have you ever been anonymous on the internet. With this change, adults will be expected to act as adults. If you don’t want the public to know what you are up to, don’t post it on the public internet, it seems rather simple to me.

Look at the difference between L4D and TF2, if you are going to do stuff like that match maker in L4D, don't even bother with dedicated servers, I do not wish to provide welfare servers, as such was the case w/ L4D, w/ no way to see return players who may have an interest in seeing the server grow and donating to keep it going. PC FPS gamers are a different bunch then console FPS gamers. I do suspect that this has more to do w/ the game being modded then anything else, not too sure why that would do that, it is one of the bigger drawls for PC FPS games.
