My SD Card reader quit working on my laptop after installing AVG Free 8. I would have rolled back to v7.5 except for the upgrade pop-up that occurs every time I updated the definitions. That was the last straw. I uninstalled it in favor of Avast. Thus far that is working well for me and my SD card reader works again.
Yeah, just like Tang came out of the Gemini flights, who knows what would result. If this were a manned mission, one possible outcome could be the development of a sun screen lotion with a 10^12 SPF rating.
why wouldn't they simply develop this technology locally? Yeah, the homies in my neighborhood play gangsta rap and Hispanic polka music in their cars with million watt sub-woofers. In addition to rattling loose fillings, this music induces vomiting, especially when played at such insane levels. What is even more amazing is the lowering effect on property values everywhere within an audible radius!
This effective technology is already mostly produced in China so they really wouldn't have to import anything.
'If it were a government contract, it would be illegal to be paid twice, once by the government and a second time by consumers.'
I suppose that is technically true but defense contractors do it all the time. They sell weapons systems to other countries that were developed under government contracts. Do the HUGE proceeds go back into the taxpayer coffers? No. So they are getting around it somehow. How should this be any different?
They need a lowercase letter out front: eSkype
Look at Apple, they put a "i" in front of everything and just look at how successful they are. Problem solved.
It's just more shit I won't be watching. Knock yourselves out NBC. Sounds pretty desperate to me! They have been dead for a long time, the corpse just doesn't know it yet.
I found this on Wikipedia (so it must be true). "What came later to be known as "The Black Mesa Incident" was triggered by a seemingly innocuous and routine experiment into teleportation. As part of the Anomalous Materials team in Sector C of the facility, research associate Gordon Freeman introduced a crystalline specimen..."

Seriously, Motorola would be trivial to turn around. I disagree. As a HW developer that has been burned by these turds in one way or another for two decades, I will never trust them again - under any name. They are damaged goods. I remember a Motorola rep. attempting to show me (at the time) Motorola's new "Digital DNA" line of stuff. I pushed the material back to him and said that I thought DNA stood for "Does Not Apply".
I don't have a set but I understand that they almost enhance voice because the background noise is so effectively reduced. Since voice is not usually periodic, it is very difficult to cancel in the same manner. But somebody will figure out a way to do it if they go through with this stupid policy.
This is an opportunity! Bose makes that headset that cancels out engine noise pretty effectively. If somebody could make a headset that cancels out idiots on their cellphones, they would make a fortune. I say this jokingly but I am serious. I would buy one in a heartbeat.
NASA changes name to JASA
Its not luck. It takes skill to fuck something up as bad as GM does.
I suspect a lot of Slashdotters have their sexual *ahem* attentions redirected to 127.0.0.1
I see, so 1 soul = 1 USD ?
Therefore, 1 soul = 0.6317 Euro and falling

Also, like a divorce, I'll bet some chairs got thrown around.
Maybe you would have recognized the humor if I had listed it as "SPF: 1,000,000,000,000,000"?

I think we are about to hear that "huge sucking sound" Ross was talking about.
shit + shit = shit

Well, it sure doesn't smell like Irish Spring!
Just need the big Steve Jobs presentation: Introducing the "iBM"

NASA has plan to deal with killer satellite by 2054.
They really are out to get me.

The RIAA doesn't have a cool theme song. And they wouldn't have to pay royalties if they did.
