I don't know where you had the "racism == bad" lesson. If anything the story with the doctor was more of "racism == persistent." And just because you believe/pretend it's not there, doesn't mean it's not. It also shows that if you ignore the warning signs you are complacent.
So true. I remember one time, back in my WoW days, my guild was doing a joint raid with another guild. To help the time pass by we decided to have some fun with them. One of our guys had wikipedia account. I am not sure how it came up but we told them that piranhas are not fish and that they breastfeed their young. We had our guy go edit wikipedia so that when they looked it up, it was true.
If they are losing money selling me service why is that my problem? If they are not making enough money then they should alter the pricing, not try to "throttle" my service. Or they should state that 3 DVDs at a time really means 3 DVDs when they feel like mailing it to me.
Netflix pulls it's own shenanigans all the time. It's gotten to a point that every few months I cancel my account and set up a new one using a different email. For some reason my movies are only mailed to me promptly if I am a new customer. Otherwise it could be that they get a movie back from me on Friday, but don't mail new one till Monday.
