    Max two weapons.

All weapons having a time and a place to use them.

A good single player story. (best story writers in the business - see marathon)

A sense of randomness and replayability never seen before in an fps.

The best FPS multiplayer console experience ever. (Yes better than goldeneye. Look at the numbers playing halo 2 online still)

Simply put, I cannot think of any FPS's from Halo's generation that came anyone near to being as good. Half-Life 2 was crap in comparison. I played it for a few hours before becoming bored with the gameplay/storyline. Farcry's story was feeble.

NLP is not a pseudoscience. Some NLP practitioners claim to be able to do things which are indeed bullshit. However, some NLP techniques do work. You know how I know this, because *GASP* I tried them and they worked!!!

Yes it's true that there are some unscrupulous people out there that sell NLP snakeoil but its not hard to work out what is good info and what isn't.

I used to be a person with very little confidence. I have studied NLP, worked out which was BS and which was useful info and applied it. Now i'm a much more confident person, I can approach girls on the street, randomly and talk to them and have met several girlfriends that way.

The trouble with NLP is that it has turned into a money making business and many people will exaggerate what it is capable of. If you need the books with an open mind and *god forbid* try some of the techniques. If they work, they work and that's great, it improves your life. If they don't, they don't. It's not rocket science man.

As for your questions, why do Americans need camps like gitmo? Im not sure this has anything to do with NLP. NLP doesn't claim to be able to mindread people and neither does Derren Brown. If you actually watched and learned something about what he uses it becomes quite clear what techniques he uses for each trick and he never claims to be able to "mind read". That isn't possible *shock!*.

It's easy for some criminals to avoid incriminating themselves because certain people give away much more through facial expressions and body language than others. Its a fact that people with a sociopathic side to their personality find it very easy to lie without giving any of the usual signs of lying (Paul Eckman). If you read Eckmans book on facial expressions and lying you will find that he did train American secret service agents in his facial expression system. WHICH IS THE EXACT SAME SYSTEM DERREN BROWN USES.

Before you open your mouth again please research the facts.

Read a book about NLP and then try out, then decide whether it works or not.

As for Derren Brown, he isnt simply just a magician. Most of the effects he achieves cannot be simply explained through magic. He very often uses memory feats, hypnosis, suggestibility, body language, facial expressions, eye movements, psychology etc etc. Read his book. Find out how many other magicians can memorise the order of 6 decks of cards..

Hmm, for once in its lifetime Apple is actually getting competitive and people are complaining about it?

I think the people moaning about Apple doing well don't realise that competition is good for the consumer. If Apple was doing less well all it would mean is that Microsoft would try even less hard than normal and all the Windows users would be in an even worse situation.

In my humble opinion, the one thing that Apple has always done well and that Microsoft has generally failed on, is ease-of-use and making things fun to use. Again, in my opinion, this still is the case. I enjoy using my ipod, my macbook pro and the software contained on these deviced. However, were Microsoft to make software that was easier to use and more enjoyable to use, I would switch without a mutter. I understand i'm just a consumer and that being a "fanboy" doesnt really make any sense at all..

To be frank Apple doesnt care if you dont buy it, or an ipod or a macbook, as long as 5'000'000 "average joe's" buy it.

Find 10 random people on the street and ask them the difference between the mobile phone technologies EDGE and 3G. Most people dont know the difference, if they dont know the difference it's not important to them. Apple realizes that the mass market doesn't intend on downloading music or videos during their daily routine. Im a geek and I couldnt give a crap about the lack of 3G, I just want a phone that works well as a phone and plays my music and videos well, hello iphone!

Yes I know it's streamed and if that's the primary cause of it's issues then it shouldn't be.

Additionally, for my first hour I wandered around trying to find something to do but was profoundly ignored by my fellow "2nd lifers", presumably because I looked like a newb.

If the developers could at least sort out the shocking camera and other control issues I may consider retrying it. I spend about 10 minutes of my first hour working out how to unzoom the camera which was permanently stuck 50 yards behind my guy.

  14. Its not about what they know, but how they learn on Questions for Entry Level PC Techs? · · Score: 5, Interesting

I spent the last year in Paris working at a school as an entry level technician and often had to solve problems that I didn't know anything about. The skill to doing this is being a fast learner and also to know how to go about solving a new problem.

I suggest you give them a problem which they probably don't know how to solve and ask them to talk through their process. This could involve some quick research on google or using common sense, etc etc. Its feasible that someone with very little tech experience could do this job as long as they have a quick brain and good common sense.

The next most important thing is social skills and the ability to get on with their users. I know how common it is to have to deal with people who know nothing about computers. You could play the role of a retarded user, or even better, get someone else involved who really is a novice and get your interviewee to train them to do something. You observe their social skills and how they interact with the novice.

    1) Ask them hard question, get them to talk through their process of trying to solve it

    2) Give them a task of training a novice to do something, or act as a novice yourself. Ask very novicey questions to see if you can frustrate them. Patience is a virtue needed for IT tech jobs.

    3) Get them to talk through a spyware infestation, a virus infestation. Make up some hypotheticals to ask them. Example: Someone calls you up and say's their internet is broken, what do you ask them first? Go through the scenario step by step and see what they do.

It's fairly easy to see quite quickly who are the people who are sharp thinkers with good inter-personal skills. It's also fairly easy to pick those people up who know what they're talking about. Ask them to recommend a virus scanner, if they say Norton, kick them out of our office immediately! They should know about programs like AVG, Avast, Stinger.

My best friend recently stopped working for sony and he knows exactly whats going on.

Get this, the sony devs themselves don't have final hardware yet. (ie SCEE, and US etc) Do you think many games will be released in November when all the 3rd party devs will only have received (according to Sony) final dev kits in June??? Currently the devs have no idea how games will run on the final ps3. In fact 3rd party devs only just received final versions of the graphics card. Given that the ps3 is officially the hardest console to develop for ever, do you really think sony will have any line up worth a crap if they released in November?

At least with xbox 360 the main processor is powerful to run games that havent been properly optimised for all three cores. Whereas with ps3, you NEED to really optimise your code for CELL, which basically means every dev to basically start coding differently then they have done for years.

You can believe me or not, I dont particularly give a damn. But come November you will see that Sony is full of bs. If it does release it will be Japan only, in small amounts with a paltry lineup.

There is nothing wrong for a women to wants lots of sex, she is only following her natural desire to mate just as any man is. People all work on the basis that they want three things in life, money, sex and health. Each one effects the others and they depend on each other. People want sex to ensure that they pass on their genetic material.

Yeah you list a lot of games but any real gamer will remember the ps2's entire first year as basically a drought in terms of good games. Ps2 basically did well initially because of the backwards compatibility and the strength of the playstation brand. The xbox360's lineup isnt amazing but it is at least slightly tempting for me due to pgr3, condemned and cod2. With the ps2 however, I already had my DC and had no temptation whatsoever so buy a ps2.
