I can do you one better.
Personally, I think it's great. Makes you think, if the Knuckles article is 10 pages long, how many pages is the rest of the sum of all knowledge?
Anyone with non-IP TV could do that as well-- nearly all the Scientific Atlanta boxes I've come across have both composite and S-video connectors onboard. And I can say with some certainty that your company is certainly not running composite or S-video from your headend to the user's home. All it takes is the initiative to buy a $5 set of cables.
This reminded me of a question I'd had years ago: Suppose DX10 games start shipping and I've got a DX9 graphics card, say a 7800GTX. Can I play these new games at all without buying a new card? I'm sure the old one could manage a decent framerate on the new game just without the new shaders and whatnot. The last time this happened I managed to buy a DX9 card before any DX9 games appealed to me so I've never had to deal with it firsthand.
Did I answer my own question?
Not even $620, $499 for the HD-A1. Now, early reviews said that it was rife with problems (slow startup, constant crashes) but the fact remains that if you want to watch a movie, on a disc, in 1080i, right now, you can do it for $499 with the HD-A1.
Myself, I don't care about this format war at all. My TV update cycle is "when it breaks, get a new one", not "when Hollywood wants to impose new DRM on me, get a new one", so I'm sticking with plain old DVD for the next two years, at least.
That would be LegitCheckControl.dll, which gets invoked by IE during an MS update or validation check.
There are cracked versions of it all over the place that let you (I think) download Windows Updates and install WGA-only software (like IE 7 and WMP11), just look around.
Then people complain about spending $700 for a console with a four-core, 6Ghz processor and 2GB of VRAM to play a 2D game. I'm sure there are purist King-of-Fighters-kinda guys who base their system choices on 2D games and controllers with good D-pads... Wii FTW!
I love Nakama 1! Excellent book to begin learning Japanese with.
Also, the parent and numerous other posters are correct. The combination u-ii (u, i+long vowel bar) can be used, as can (according to Wikipedia) u+small i. There are certainly ways to do it.
...I think. My Earth/Space Science book is online (well, uh, I found the PDFs on another school's site...) and there are Acrobat security restrictions on printing and copying text, which is annoying. Ultimately it can be cracked with any PDF "password recovery/removal" tool in a second, but not everyone that wants to quote a passage or diagram, etc. knows how to do that.
I'm not sure exactly how big the beta is but I got on the waiting list the day this was announced (after hearing about it here on/.) and I got my email today saying I now had access.
I just did a proposal for a client on the US Education Apple Store (on store.apple.com, there's a dropdown box near the bottom to choose the store) and eMacs were there in full force. This was three days ago. Not sure if they pulled one of those media-event-specials and killed them off today, but AFAIK they were there not too long ago.
As far as performance goes... well, the eMac was running 1.42Ghz G4 at the highest end, with 512MB max (from Apple) and a maximum 120GB HD (again from Apple). The mini has had the 100GB/1.0 (maybe 1.5) GB RAM config available for awhile now, and I don't imagine that's changed. All told, I'm pretty sure that if you took the high-end models from each line without aftermarket upgrades the mini would spank the eMac.
Wow I definitely should have posted that anonymously, now anyone Googling for my name gets LOL I LUV PORN HURR HURR. Thanks, Slashdot!
I realize this is mostly a joke but actually, 99% of porn DVDs have no region coding and some have no CSS copy-protection either.

Not too bad, if I do say so myself.
You mean Lynyrd Skynyrd aren't really from Alabama?!

This is wild. I'm actually downloading a Linux ISO from BitTorrent instead of just saying I am.
I thought it was about DaxFlame.
That's funny, I thought we were talking about heavy metal.
This is what happens when you switch to Intel chips!

"Stub"?! This is Slashdot, not Wikipedia!
Pardon my asking, but what _else_ were you using in 1966 if not Unix?

3DRealms says Duke Nukem Forever Most Fun Game Ever.

Horrifying grammar is a common problem, but its not a problem I can fix in a semester-long class.
I would think not.

"Lots of schooling behaivor." Yeah, this guy could use some schooling behaivor himself.
