I hate to say it but this seems to be more of a fanboi rant than anything. The vista operating system is new and drivers reflect that, I'll give you that. I'll also give you the fact that the nvidia control panel is a complete waste of time since it only confuses the hell out of people and makes it difficult to change the settings you want, but you can always revert and use the old control panel.

Now what I will NOT give you is the XP stability bit. Ive been using their drivers pretty much since XP came out and the ONLY problem I EVER had was with the 23.10 and the 23.11 driver set that caused XP to randomly bsod and reboot.

I also dont agree with your complaints regarding video editing software and the problems. Dont forget the fact that the 8800 series is a CONSUMER card made primarily for GAMING. If you want something for use in professional apps, then get a professional card such as their quadro line

This seems like hes trying to say that the only people that buy a wii are kids under 14. I for one find this offensive. Since when does a game have to show extreme violence, language and nudity just to not be lumped into the "for kids" arena?

There are a bit of fun games for the wii that arent "for kids" such as COD and Trauma Center. Just because nintendo ends up being the console that most "child friendly" developers choose does NOT mean the system is for kids

I work in a company where Dumb Terminals were installed a few years back because they were "the wave of the future" and as it turns out, its a wave I didnt like being a part of. It was a constant struggle with bandwidth and apps locking taking 100% of a servers cpu thus slowing eveyone down to a crawl.

We are currently in the process of moving people to real pc's and the difference in productivity is very noticable. Also the line about them being more reliable since they have no moving parts is BS, we use Neoware terminals and end up sending them back or throwing them away fairly often due to the network controller on them crapping out, or the onboard ROM gets corrupt somehow.

I can see where they would be very useful in places like autozone where they are dedicated to a single app, but thats about as far as i would go with them.

The 3am calls, the random "I have to work 5 hours over", along with the leaving the movie theater/dinner because I got a message on my blackberry saying a server is down takes its toll on her. She understands the fact that the industry I work in is like this, but at the same time she gets angry because to her this means I love my job more than I love her.

This could not be further from the truth, I dont enjoy these kinds of events but that doesnt stop her feelings that she should be more important. We've had the discussion about it many times and while she is understanding of the issue she doesnt like it. I can see how the OP feels like IT is the reason for his divorce, it is stressful on a relationship but I dont think it was the only reason. More than likely it was just something extra putting stress on a relationship that wasnt stable in the first place
