    Yes but if you are about to make one of the biggest purchases of your life and take out a multi-thousand dollar loan, I wouldn't expect you to become an expert on the subject but at least educate yourself a little.

    That's what I did. $30.00 a month for unlimited text and picture messages to any network for all 5 lines with AT&T. That comes out to $6 per line. Not bad if you ask me.

    I believe you can buy unlocked phones directly from Nokia. If you buy it from a telco, you are buying a phone locked by the telco themselves.

    According to Amazon.com reviewers, PCs recognize the A2 as an external hard drive (i.e you can drag and drop your files) and supports FLAC.

    Cowon's iAudio X5 is a good example, they even say it on their website that Linux and Mac are no problem. I use my X5 on Ubuntu, recognized it right away. Too bad the x5 has been discontinued but I'm sure their other DAPs work well on Linux as well.
