    How could 'dead reckoning' even be possible with a computer? It would have to know if you were walking, running, walking backwards, turning left/right, etc.
    A car nav system can do it, but only because it's wired into the vechicle inself.

    I guess you could tell the computer what your doing:
    "KITT! I need ya' buddy! I'm walking 45 feet forward at 3 fps. Calculate where I'll be when I get there!"

    I think they should start with genuinely intelligent programming, and move on from there.

    This will not only adversly effect dependent businesses, but it have a severe impact on deaf community. There are thousands (millions?) of deaf and hard-of-hearing adults that use the Blackberry in leiu of cell phones or TTY machines. I have several friends who are deaf or active in the deaf community with BB's. I will be sad if they had to revert to SMS for all their mobile communication....

    If you get captured by the enemy in AA, it should make you wait 1-5 years before you can start using your computer again. Of course, you could always take the cowards way out and power-off your system (suicide) or read slashdots post in an effort to understand your captors (Stockholm syndrome).

    I agree with this assesment. It reminds me of this basic flaw in 802.11-A wireless. It's not a buffer overflow bug or other coding problem, it's just the nature of a metafile.
    But's since it's a Windows metafile, they really can't blame this one someone else.
