Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, I don't have a Science Mag subscription, nor do I have access to newer articles (using a bugmenot login). I was hoping PubMed might have a copy or a link, but they just bounce me back over to the sciencemag.org page. Oh well. I'll keep looking for a copy.
Triple-blind experiments will emerge through massive non-invasive statistical data collection--- no one, not the subjects or the experimenters, will realize an experiment was going on until later.
Won't this have a slight effect on the quality of data that's gathered (or lack thereof)?
You're completely missing his point, which is that "gamers" don't have the slightest clue about sound theory, headphone or speaker design. And it's clear from the "review" that the author doesn't either. He's simply rehashing specs and press release marketing points, without even knowing what they mean.
Since the article is really only a teaser, there isn't much to be said about it. However, assuming this thing works well, it's a nice direction to see the high-end GPU market head towards. Now if only I could afford one...
I truly hope that expro isn't a native English speaker. If he is, he really needs to go back to 7th grade English class to learn about sentence structure.

Not surprisingly, Zonk seems to be living in a world of his own. On Thursday, March 16 he posted the Gnome 2.14 story that started "Beware the Ides of March..." (Here's a clue, Zonk. The Ides of March is March 15). Then he posts this St. Patty's Day story on Saturday, March 18 (Another clue, Zonk. St Patty's Day fell on Friday, March 17 this year). It's really not that difficult to keep up on which day of the week it is, especially if you're trying to post topically relevent information for your job...
O/T, but the entire point is that the 'War on Terra' simply can not be won or ended. Which is why they have now begun calling it 'The Long War.' It's very convenient for all those defense contractors, if you ask me.
I was reading an article earlier today (found via google news) that stated that Sony will price blank 25GB BluRay discs at about 20-25 bucks, with 50GB ones running about 50-60 bucks. The 50GB ones won't be available until the end of the year. Assuming HD-DVD+-R/RW prices are in the same ballpark, I would just stock up on hard drives. Or get a tape system if you really have that much critical data that truly needs to be backed up.
Your time is clearly incredibly valuable, which is why you sit here bitching and moaning on a text-based forum about how you don't have time to read text on a webpage. I'll let you (attempt to) sort out the irony in that one...

I should be able to get this sofware quickly and with no fuss and minimal reading.
Yeah, cos clicking the "standalone player" link instead of the itunes+quicktime link is so fucking difficult. Of course, that implies that you know how to read the words "standalone player" which you admit yourself that you can't be bothered to do. Quit being so fucking lazy, you sack of shit.
Be my guest. They're all yours. And I swear I won't try to sue you in 25 years over your use of those names.
This really does seem as silly as a PB&J parent...
No kidding. ButterBoy or JellyGirl do seem pretty silly to me.
Why can't they just make something that goes around hugging everything ..
They did. His name was Clippy.
Dammit, can't they make a Windows killer?
Does it work on everyone's favorite image, hello.jpg?
I'm glad Mz6 "wrote to mention" an article. Next time it would be helpful if he provided a link to go with the mention.

They just scan the UPC on the reciept, and viola...
I'm sorry, but I see no reason for them to need to look at my viola to decide whether or not I'm eligible to return some clothing.
I'm not watching television. I'm staring at the intarweb screen.

Translation: We're working on ways of tying this thing even further into our operating system than before.
$20 Billion bozo.
Is that the sequel to Million Dollar Baby?
War on Terror would be victorious!

BadAnalogyGuy, is that you?
Using POP doesn't mean that your messages still won't be retained in gmail's 'backup system.'

The FCC only regulates broadcast (air).
You forgot to add the all important part--"at the moment."
