Lot's of bands form their own labels. Look at Powerman 5000. They've gone solo (formed their own label) and you can find their CDs in any store. Just because a band doesn't sign with a label doesn't mean they can't get their music distributed. Worst case they'll host a website and release it via bittorrent.

I still wouldn't bet on blu-ray alone. That format war isn't over yet. HD is still in the fight. As for me I'm perfectly content with a DVD for $20 or less.

While I agree there isn't a "overwhelming" selection of games for any next-gen console I think the 360 definitly has the edge in until some heavy hitters from Nintendo and Sony show up. Even still though the PS3 lost GTAIV (and FFXIII as I've heard it?) as exclusive which is going to cost them dearly.

  23. Re:Age of Conan Warhammer Online on Warhammer Online Beta Application Now Open · · Score: 1

You missed a couple points on the existing fanbase. AoC is drawing from the books, and more importantly staying true to the gritty gore filled lore. AoC is also coming out for the X-Box 360. As for gamestyle if you haven't checked out the PvP options in AoC then "OMG". They certainly have some cool plans. Drunken bar fights, sieging player towns, last man standing, and a bunch more. Hopefully the M rating will deter some of the "younger generation" from getting their hands on this. I think it's going to be a close call between WAR and AoC.

  24. Ads on DVR Viewers Push Ad Ratings Higher · · Score: 5, Insightful

Ads are used for a lot of stuff. They give you a chance to grab another beverage, run to the bathroom, and so on. These people are probably not viewing them (exception being a particularly funny ad). The better answer might even be they can't find the fast foward button or the pause(for when they do need to get up) on their jumbo multiuse remotes.
