Lot's of bands form their own labels. Look at Powerman 5000. They've gone solo (formed their own label) and you can find their CDs in any store. Just because a band doesn't sign with a label doesn't mean they can't get their music distributed. Worst case they'll host a website and release it via bittorrent.
It was stated on his blog awhile back that RJ disclosed the entire story to his with and cousin. So with his notes and them knowing the story it will most likely be finished. http://www.dragonmount.com/RobertJordan/ The site is down currently (no doubt due to his passing)
Actually Habbo Hotel succeeded was due to "bobba". Lot's and lot's of bobba. For those of you who don't know what bobba is I'll use it in a sentance and let you read between the lines: "Hey nice shoes, wanna bobba?"
I still wouldn't bet on blu-ray alone. That format war isn't over yet. HD is still in the fight. As for me I'm perfectly content with a DVD for $20 or less.
While I agree there isn't a "overwhelming" selection of games for any next-gen console I think the 360 definitly has the edge in until some heavy hitters from Nintendo and Sony show up. Even still though the PS3 lost GTAIV (and FFXIII as I've heard it?) as exclusive which is going to cost them dearly.
My launch PS2 just got the disc read error problem last month. I played it nearly everyday for at least 2 years. It was a good run. I must have been one of the "lucky ones".
I'm into the TV shows on DVD over a DVR personally. I too forget I can pause sometimes especially when the pets are getting pushy. I hate missing key plot elements. I think we as humans have just trained ourselves to wait for the ads to get our business done.
You missed a couple points on the existing fanbase. AoC is drawing from the books, and more importantly staying true to the gritty gore filled lore. AoC is also coming out for the X-Box 360. As for gamestyle if you haven't checked out the PvP options in AoC then "OMG". They certainly have some cool plans. Drunken bar fights, sieging player towns, last man standing, and a bunch more. Hopefully the M rating will deter some of the "younger generation" from getting their hands on this. I think it's going to be a close call between WAR and AoC.
Ads are used for a lot of stuff. They give you a chance to grab another beverage, run to the bathroom, and so on. These people are probably not viewing them (exception being a particularly funny ad). The better answer might even be they can't find the fast foward button or the pause(for when they do need to get up) on their jumbo multiuse remotes.

They have a catheter installed. As for eating, bringing 2-3 bags of chips and a 24 pack of mountain dew and you have a recipe for death.

If Verizon keeps doing stuff like this, they won't have any customers. Then the American people win...except for those who were employeed by Verizon.
Then /. would lose 99% of it's userbase, and what fun is that?
As they say, no publicity is bad publicity.
but if you cannot tell the difference between those adds and the "results" you probably shouldn't be on the internet.

Let's not forget V for Vendetta. Excellent movie.
"And large fuzzy dice hang like testicles from rearview mirrors"
that e-coli can't do? My friends insulin (Type1 Diabetic) is "modified" e-coli. Now we're making gas with it too. What's next?
So if it can turn plastic back into oil what will it do a box of Peeps?
By 3rd I don't mean "lower" or "poor". I mean the 3rd class who doesn't use either or gives a damn about either site.
da na na na na na na Batman!

Well if I recall the only way to kill a hydra is with fire... Burn the spammers! Burn them all!

And the extra heat from Moniters and PCs will melt our polar icecaps with Global Warming 2.0
It's not ignoring your brain. It's just operating off the 2nd one. Since you know....you only have enough blood to run one at a time....
you just have to let the Holy Grail go...
