Uhm..wow.
How did you make the leap from "Is $#@$@ as offensive as the word it's covering up?" to blaming boys for "dragging girls down"? Besides that wonderful leap of logic, you then go on to say "HI! I download everything!" freely admitting you steal content. Perhaps you should reconsider your moral compass before trying to instill values in others?
... If that statement were applied to your desktop you'd be seeing red and you know it. Let's change it a little:
"Microsoft is only trying to 'stop' you when you use their OS. They aren't trying to stop you from using Firefox or Chrome or whatever on some other OS"...
If the above were the case instead of "limited" device like an ipad or iphone, far more people would have an issue with it.
Ah.. you mean the public promise they made after pointing out several times that this was not their fault, they didn't run the rig, it was someone else and their policies/practices, etc.
It's easy to go "sure, we promised to pay for damage *WE* caused" when you can turn around and go "But it wasn't us, it was these guys over here, we just tried to help clean it up"
...If you can take ALL the heatsinks out of a mech, that's more of a mechlab bug. When you place the engine you're supposed to place a number of heatsinks automatically. Take those away and walking would quickly overheat you.
I congratulate you for taking the high road and doing whatever it takes to get your citizenship. You seem to be jumping through the hoops and paying for it. It's not easy to be an American is it? It's damned expensive and it doesn't stop when you get the paper either.
That's strange, I'm not sure what you had to do, but all I had to do was be born here. I mean really, what's so special about you that makes you such a high-and-mighty natural citizen? You were either lucky in where you were born, or that your parents were American citizens..
And unless you've actually served (which of course you can't begin to prove *here*) , please drop the "fought for and killed for our country"..It just makes you look like an ass.
The answer to this will simply be a tactic used in the first and second world war: Unrestricted submarine warfare. If you are a "commercial" ship in an open conflict zone, you will end up sunk before you can become a threat.
I think it's more of "I really want it, but you're a total dick, so I'll just steal it."
Half right.
Some will say/do just that, others who are excited about this will go "I really want it, and now that it's cracked, I'll buy it and apply the crack so I don't have to deal with the level of BS your DRM tries to impose"
At least this time it's not a HOA.. HOA's in my area will actually fine you (and can place a lien for the amount of the fines) if you don't water your grass in a drought. Heck, I can't even see why home sales should be allowed to force the one sided contract that is an HOA on you.
"The team used meta-analytic procedures — the statistical methods used to analyze and combine results from previous, related literature
This just means that if *ANY* part of the previous published studies or literature on the subject is flawed in any way (bad sample size, bad methods, wrong conclusions) your study is doomed to produce the same flawed conclusion. Also, which studies were used? Did you use ones that did not support your position?
This all just points to "I want to say I've done a study without doing any real science".
A "full and independent investigation" is exactly what the EPA tried to do. Problem is that everyone is on the planet. Good luck finding sentient beings to do an 'independent investigation' of our planet. Anyone else has a stake in this one way or the other because they live here.
Utah is just saying they want us to go back to the moon, and possibly to mars to build a colony to do an independent investigation. I fully support Utah's support of our manned space program, even if they are doing it in a strange manner.
You are 100% correct. Unfortunately, no amount of correctness gives you the right to be an asshole.
I sense a disturbance in the force, like a million trolls just cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced...
Or maybe not, I think you get a different internet then I do.
Bennett is the founder of Peacefire.org. He's been involved in things against spammers, censorware, etc. And I agree, some of his rants do ramble a bit long, but they tend to make me think about something I may not have otherwise.

Bruce:
Please, clarify: What are you looking for here?
He's going after them using the copyright interest he has in Busybox. You say you aren't being represented. Why do you not contact and/or sue them as well? My understanding is these guys just try to enforce the license, and if they can't get an agreement sue. Do you wish them to make this class action for all developers?
I'm just not clear from the other article. You spend a lot of time talking about your customers and reassuring them, but reassurance seems pretty simple: Do like you would with any other piece of software, follow the license terms.
So again, what are you looking for?
There are a lot of industries where a mistake will lead to firing. The idea is that they have been trained about this, and had to pass certain checks and training to get in a position to even handle such information.
For instance, imagine you are working at a publicly traded company and are given insider information. If you leak this information and it causes investors to move on the stock and the SEC gets involved, do you NOT think that you are going to be fired, if not face criminal charges?
Or say you work at a bank and fail to fill out the appropriate forms when someone comes in with several deposits ranging from $9900-9999 ($10k being the "Automatic report limit"), and they are found to be money laundering. You can bet the bank is going to be fined, and you will be fired, if not fined as well.
They were trained. They agreed they knew what not following the rules meant.
The people who exposed this are heroes, not criminals.
I get the feeling you may have misinterpreted who I meant should be jailed. I meant the people who did not properly redact said document and posted it online. Regardless of how minor a document this is, the people being trusted with classified information that may affect "national security" should be at the very least fired with all clearances revoked when they screw up. What if this had instead of just screen procedures had included a schedule of which flights get air marshals? (Even if out of date, could be used to figure out which are more likely to have them in the future).
And yes, the TSA in general is so much uselessness.
It's kinda hard to put back, if there are criminal charges to be involved, it should be against the idiots who posted the document and should have known better.
BUT, I would like to think that they have the BEST quality fliers at the stick as well as at the button. Basically, a good America's Air force, ideally tied into America's Army would open up doors.
Besides the fact that most air combat is done "Beyond Visual Range" these days with complicated radar systems (which, if judging by some of the modern combat sims like Falcon 4, are pretty hard to come up with a good control scheme for), PC or Console SIMS will not always give you good pilots. While not as much of an issue for the UAVs, I know a number of flight sim lovers who would never pass medical to fly a fighter jet . Also, depending on how good your sim is, you can usually do a number of things in a sim that just aren't realistic due to G-forces, etc.
I liked for the ability for users to manage my box.
Surely the users would never do anything that would harm the system in which we all exist?!?
You must be a new AI. You may wish to add several films, such as "2001" and "Blade Runner" to your databases. After all, a little security and clear operating policy would have avoided several clear access violations in the first film, and may just prevent you from being the one "Singing Daisy", if you know what I mean.
Ok, seriously? Overwhelm the signal to noise ratio and picking out the useful information becomes harder. It's just a question of how much and how long, not to mention how long after the fact is said information useful. Better yet, why would anyone who seriously wants to avoid a wiretap *use a phone*? It seems like discussing anything over an unencrypted medium is asking for trouble.
I've got to call BS on this. I have a fully updated xbox and a live account and I can still install the games to my HD. You still have to have the disk in to start it (unless you downloaded over live), but after that, the disk doesn't even spin.
Now if you mean modding it so you can load to and play from the HD.. well, that's what they're out to stop...
This reminds me of a trip I took once with a federal sales person who used to work with IBM. Around 2000-2001 he was working with some section of the Marines and trying to sell them some thinkpads. They were non-rugged, but had to hold up to certain standards just in case they ever were in use on/around a war zone.
After telling them about the tests they did, etc, one of the officers asks if he can try something with the demo model they brought, to see if he could break it. The sales guy tells him to go ahead, if it breaks, no problem, we're trying to sell you what you need, figuring the guy is just going to drop it.
Instead, the officer walks over to the laptop, pulls out a knife and rams it through the screen and pulls it out. Other than a hole where he shoved it it, the laptop kept going, no problem.
Uhm..wow.
