I would agree with the above sentiment above on project management or even business administration courses if you feel you enjoy working with the people more than the code/technology itself. There is always a spot for management that came up through the ranks and understands the actual job of those around them.
There are some great alternatives to just an MBA that combine some business/accounting with other skills depending on your career path. One example is University of Wisconsin's Masters in Engineering Management (formerly Masters of Engineering in Professional Practice). There are other similar degrees to this one that might be closer to your ambitions than an MBA if you look around.
Well if the facial recognition software would allow law enforcement to identify the creators of the beta to lock them up and do unspeakable things to them, such as forcing them to wear Google glass to stare at the beta site (the usual cruel and unusual laws need not apply to monsters like them), I think it would be a terrific idea.
... it can't be any worse of an idea than the beta after all.
First, I am going to have to call B.S. on at least part of the summary:
infants and toddlers "just have no idea what's going on" no matter how well done a video is
They can enjoy music, motion, colors, and even learn to understand what is going on. My first daughter watched https://www.babysigningtime.com/ from about 6 months (give or take a bit) and by 1 had a rather extensive signing vocabulary. At first she would watch 1 segment and gradually would watch one 30 minute episode (each episode had about 6 segments with a group of related signs in song format). The songs were catchy and the colors were flashy. Even if she was just sitting and playing and not paying full attention, I felt it was a fine musical background. Also, her watching was not always a solo activity. Many days, her and I would curl up together on the couch and watch the episode right before bed as a way to unwind. I was hoping http://www.yourbabycanread.com/ would catch her attention too, but when she wanted a show on it was almost always Signing Time.
Most people will immediately take the knee-jerk reaction and think they can't let a child watch anything. Sure, if you let the television babysit your child for hours you will have issues. Like everything else in this world, there is a need for moderation and parental involvement. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with letting a child watch things like the previously mentioned shows, Sesame Street, Super Why, or Sid the Science Kid, so long as it is not being used as a substitute for parenting.
(I do not work for nor have any association with any of the aforementioned programming)
(Post based on empirical evidence, not a scientific study. Your mileage may vary. Perhaps my child turned out great DESPITE my efforts.)
If it is necessary for your credit card to go through, then you have to give it anyway.
If it isn't needed by your credit card, then there is no reason you can't just interpret their question as "please name a zip code". There is a store by my house that I know will ask zip code prior to any purchase that probably thinks they have had a customer from every state including Alaska and Hawaii last year.
[1] Mega Man 9 is an obvious counterexample. It's pretty hard for a modern day game--somewhere between MM2 and the later ones which could actually be beaten fairly easily. And it sold like hotcakes.
You enjoyed Mega Man 9, yet you could rubber band down "right" on controller number 2, hop down any hole, and become a GOD (not to mention the jumping 5x higher)... pretty much removed all challenge from the game, but allowed you to play through the level. They could also freeze the bad guys with the controller making things easier, or harder (fun to do to siblings or friends at inconvenient times)
Did that ruin YOUR experience if somebody else was able to do that?
Now if the complaint was "I am too weak willed to not cheat when it is so readily available", I would understand, but complaining that cheats you don't have to use ruin YOUR experience is just silly.
Actually I believe this is because we have effectively legislated natural selection out of our modern lives.
If you decide to dump scalding hot coffee on your genitals you should not be able to reproduce... instead coffee is not legally allowed to be hot enough to burn... and If it is you get millions of dollars.
enough to fix the damage and have many children...
Logically, if it's a technical problem using a cellphone from a plane, it would also be a problem using it from the top of a tall building. In a metropolitan area, the top of a skyscraper would be "line of sight" to hundreds of cellphone towers.
Exactly. Scyscrapers often move at the same speeds as airplanes do, jumping from tower to tower at the same rate, and it hasn't killed anyone yet!
Sony delays the consoles release 6+ months in Europe (we'll ignore hardware differences)
so developers there delay games 6+ months more... sounds fair to me.
With consumer reports you need to remember that Price is also taken into account.
There are many Products that get kicked down notches because they cost assloads more than the others.
I would think the reason gamers might test this technology first is because if stray thoughts (or misread ones) cause mario to jump off a cliff and you lose a life, well you are still playing a game by thought and that's cool...
Now if a person in a wheelchair has a stray thought or a misread one and goes off a cliff...
I think letting the technology mature while being used in other sectors can't hurt
I got myself an ibm thinkpad due to a friends dumpster diving at a company he worked for.
it had a pentium 90 and 89 ram (some stolen for video, some possibly bad... never knew where the number came from).
It came with windows 3.1 (and lots of company information on the 6GB drive)but I decided to try other windows:
Win XP
"did not meet system requirements"
win 2000
I was hoping I could turn almost all services off and have a decently running machine, but it was just too slow. I probably could have done more configuration and tried, and the speed was USABLE.... just not whjat I was looking for.
winMe
(there goes even more of my Karma)
I was at the friends place that did the diving and he could not find his win98 cd. It was in one of my older binders I left at home so this was the only non xp/2000 system we had a disk for.
Ran ok but who the hell would want to be running ME... but then I found out that when you "upgrade" to XP from ME, I didn't get the same complaint about requirements
winxp - take 2
going from ME->XP worked like a dream (and later making a slipstreamed xp disk that didn't complain)
turning off every non used service and all the fancy gui gave me a slow... but very usable machine.... thanks to it I was able to stay awake through classes AND catch up on my super Nintendo playing... Our college then got Wifi hotspots put up everywhere and though I had to find a 16 bit nic card.... worked like a dream. This is the OS I stayed with
debian
Went te quite a few linux user groups meetings to TRY and get debian (easy part) with X running...
though I can see my Karma burning away at this statement.... an OS with no gui was useless to me as the machine was primarily for internet, emulators, and remote connections to my main machine because I found I could play civilization just fine through the network.
After so many tries and a few other distros (think I tried redhat and caldera) I gave up that dream
I still have the laptop.... though the pcima card slots died so now it is a pretty paperweight
Personally I HATED the yahoo mail beta... I gave it 3 weeks to grow on me, then told it to go back to the original.
If I wanted an outlook like mail I would use outlook or evolution, I like the speed, efficiency, and layout of traditional web mail. The Beta slows it down, crowds the screen, and generally makes it seem like more work to quickly check your mailbox for anything good.
Yahoo was my main email with gmail being second but knowing the changes that are coming if the beta goes live I am moving more and more to gmail
disclaimer: I tried the beta and gave up about a month ago... maybe they have made some changes in that time
If the govenment is expected to help land owners in times of crisis
huricane
tornado
flood
giant radioactive lizard
then it needs to collect some amount of money to cover that cost.
Unfortunatly this turns out to be like insurance.... hopefully the money is wasted and you never need it!
... it is not lying... it is, and has been for many years called marketing.
the beer commercial shows you that when you open up one of their beers you get 20 naked women to show up at your party, but the "other" beer brings balding middle aged men.
This is no different from any other commercial on any other form of media.
Hell, Some drug ads never say what they do (so they don't have to give side effects) similar to Sony not saying this is an ad.
... EXACTLY!!!
I instantly started beating the crap out of all kinds of people when I got the game, and I either get marched off by a prefect to actually attend class (which is fun.... what an unrealistic game), or when I got in REALLY big trouble... I had to mow the lawn!
This game should not just be banned, they should probably just pre-arrest everybody who already has the game since they will probably turn out to be very violent criminals anyway!
The law makers have no idea how bad this game really is
... if only Jack Thompson were alive... he would have warned people about how bad this game is!
Movies cost several million dollars to produce and you can buy the DVD for a single Andrew Jackson.
except.... what they do is release the movie I used to buy.
For 2 weeks or so it cost me maybe 15$.
Then the price actually goes UP to 20$ for some unspecified amount of time.
And then the final insult... they then release a new "uncensored extreme extended +50 hours of video footage" version which cost the same amount as the initial movie I might have bought...
It is even worse if you bought collectors editions of some movie... only to have a cooler version of the DVD come out a few months late...
EA,
I was deciding if I needed to download an "extended demo" version of this software, or I thought it was good enough to buy.
Thanks to this new informaton I now know that I will be waiting for those third party developers to remove the inability to play without the cd in the drive and the spyware in your game, and I will get a copy from them instead.
I hope they dont charge much for these ACTUAL WANTED features in the game, but even if they do, they will be the ones who earned the money.

When attempting to repeat the study some very different results were observed https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Probably an error converting between metric light-years and American light-years.
Congratulations to all those involved. I raise my glass to you.

That was Sarah Jessica Parker you insensitive clod!
If it is like Fable 1 then don't worry.
.... If you want to see all the endings.
You will only be staring at an ass for 10 hours max
