It has a small process that locally records audio and listens for the key words "ok Google". None of that will ever be stored let alone transmitted to the internet. Only after this phrase has been detected does Google Home start recording. It stops again when there is a moment of silence.

Pretty much anything... just not Hillary. Drain the swamp? Fuck it, don't care anymore. Tax breaks for the middle class... fuck it, just no Hillary. Child molesters in Congress... fuck it, as long as it ain't Hillary. Emails!!! Grab 'em by the pussy! WW3? Who cares... just not Hillary.
Those apps just increase one's propensity to needlessly spend money with those stores. If you can afford it, fine. But oftentimes, the same people with the Starbucks app on their phones are the same ones complaining about high rents and low wages.
Mod parent up. In the 10 to 15 minutes (on average!) it takes someone to pop into Starbucks, they could have done it at home much faster and far cheaper, which throws the "time or your money" argument right out the window.
$0.89 coffee at the 7/11 when you stop for gas? Okay, sure... $5 and 20 minutes at Starbucks?
Spoken like a parent. There's no such thing as Santa, Tim is not tiny and he is not special. Tough shit, Tim. You don't always get everything you want.
Not true. However, the "CLOSE DOOR" button on some elevators is not connected to anything. Only a timer and sensors operate the door. The button gives nervous riders something to do.
At the risk of being pedantic, this just isn't true. The Close Door button works when the car is in fire service mode, medical emergency mode, inspection service mode, and attended service mode.
It might have something to do with the fact that the leaflets accused the media (the ones hiding this part of the story) of launching a coup d'etat against the United States, that the media are complicit in a fear-based propaganda war to enhance the power of the deep state and deprive citizens of their liberties.
Most media outlets aren't reporting the content of the leaflets, probably to avoid promoting this sort of thing, but the initial report I saw indicated something about corrupt media and assault on freedom.
A rep for the Santa Clara Police Department (SCPD) told the San Francisco Chronicle the leaflets included, "something about free speech and his belief that television stations are corrupt."
Don't have time this morning, but anything you can read on NFPA 70E will be a good start. You can read the entirety of the 70E standard online at nfpa.org for free.
Good example of a Energized Electrical Safe Work Practices program here, although its somewhat dated, it is a good representation:
If they don't understandarc flash then they should damned well sue their schools / instructors / mentors. Without that awareness they probably stand facing a breaker as they're pulling the lever to open it, and could be burned, blinded, or killed if there's a fault. Number One Rule - stand BESIDE the breaker with your face turned away before you pull the switch!
I appreciate what you're saying. Please remember, though, there is a huge divide between having awareness of arc flash and understanding arc flash. They all all aware that they need to stand to the side when opening/closing a breaker because that's how they were trained. Most may be aware of why they should. Fewer, though, understand how to determine the level of incident energy they would be exposed to should something go wrong. Available fault current and clearing time upstream being two examples of a multitude of factors that most do not understand because they simply weren't trained. They are mechanics first, electricians second. Part of what I do is help them get to a level beyond awareness.
being an experienced electrician means you most certainly know.
No, it doesn't.
I work with plenty of electricians -- both inside wiremen and outside linemen. I can say with near certainty that perhaps 20% -- maybe 30% -- of those would understand that a Mylar bag would block GPS.
Most electricians and linemen understand the mechanics (pull cable, cut/bend conduit, set poles, drill holes, terminate wire where the drawing says to, etc etc...) much more then they understand electrical theory. When discussing arc flash and upstream breaker fault clearing times with them, for example, I get that blank stare much more often than not.
You're a tool.
How is he going against all empirical evidence if he did 0 market research to develop empirical evidence?
Your statement doesn't make a whole lot of fucking sense.

Sorry, but no.
Preference does not require intolerance, but bigotry does.
Has the nature of this power failure been determined?
If you have to ask, you weren't there.

You two are idiots. That's a fake "Creimer" account.
Pay attention.
Which one? Asking for a friend...

I'm pretty sure the macOS "root bug" requires physical access to the machine.

Doesn't the good Senator from New York have more pressing issues demanding his attention these days?
Well, that's fucking scary. What is the alleged upside to Intel ME? Asking for a friend...
Agreed.

Could be. Nothing would surprise me anymore.

You've got it right. Rain fade.

Verizon's 30 GHz radio signal should work the same as physic's 30 GHz radio signal.
No, it doesn't.

So... Yo dawg, I heard you like paywalls, so I put some paywalls around your paywalls.
